I have heard that they are good at cooking the food but that after a while the fan gets clogged up and stops working. What is your experience of them? If the bit about the fan is true, do you know if it is easy to remedy?

As a sommelier myself, I find that some restaurateurs feel that the staff should all have sufficient knowledge of the food, drinks and tobaccos to service the customers' requirements, whilst some feel that a sommelier is essential for the smooth running of the service and satisfaction of the clients. I currently work for a wine supplier, rather than on a restaurant floor, where I find my training is equally applicable. What do you consider to be the arguments for and against having sommeliers in restaurants.

I know white bread is bad for you anyway, but I'm not keen on brown bread.

I usually eat fish, veg, rice, pasta type stuff.

My mother & grandmother used to make a chocolate gravy to serve with hot bisquits in the morning. Has anyone ever heard of this? It's made with the canned hot chocolate....It's thick and kind of sweet....but not too sweet. It used to taste pretty good.

Hi,
I'm with the MG owners club in east anglia, and we're looking for new places to meet in 2007.

Can anyone name any decent pubs with suitably large car parks anywhere in east anglia (Norfolk, suffolk and cambs area).

Cheers in advance!

Steve

I've had trouble in the past with just quartering and frying corn tortillas. The result always seems heavier and more difficult to chew than I would like.

I got given one for Christmas, and though I will probably keep it for cooking fries, I just wondered what else I could cook in a small deep fryer?

I got a George Foreman Grill for Christmas - what can I cook on it other than the obvious burgers etc. Does anyone have any good recipes I can try out? The booklet that comes with it only had about 4 recipes for different kinds of burgers and I'm looking for a bit more variety!
