No - do not add syrup to the Pancake Batter. In fact you are better off to do without Syrup completely. Use St. Dalfour sugar free jams on your pancakes. The
Mango and Pineapple or the Black Cherry.

I never tried that, so I can't help you there. However, I felt like sharing my favorite thing to add into my pancake mix...... melted peanut butter. Just put a couple tablespoons into a mug and microwave it until pourable, usually only takes about 30 seconds. Yum, it's delicious. Then I melt my favorite preserves the same way, to put on top.

Voila! Peanut Butter n Jelly Pancakes!

You are better off topping the pancakes with syrup. Extra sugar, be it white, honey or maple will cause them to darken and burn very quickly. If you want more sweetness then add some berry or apple compote to the finished pancakes.
