All of the ginger beef recipes I see always have a LOT of sugar in them, but the ginger beef I'm most familiar with is from a Thai restaurant. . .it's not sweet at all, just very spicy. I've been trying to experiment, but so far, I haven't figured out anything good. Does anyone have any recipes for a ginger beef/chicken stir fry like this?

I've been a lacto-vegetarian since the beginning of this year - and I think I'm ready to take it to the next level - veganism. I'm becoming more and more aware of the cruelty of the dairy industry and I want to be done with it. Any tips for going vegan and soothing my conscience?

BTW - I'm in school right now and I'm extremely poor.
