I'm looking for ingredient replacements for the following items:

Lets use 1 Tbsp as a measuring device! Please list what you would use as a replacment and the ratio for each

For the life of me I just can't seem to find any of these in my local grocery store...believe me I've looked very hard!

1) Almond Powder
2) Cellophane Noodles
3) Filé Powder
4) Spanish Onion
5) Spiced Onions
6) Truffles (Not the chocolate, the fungus!)

I'm meeting my girlfiend's family for the the first time this year during Hannukah. I'm pretty nervous being as I'm not Jewish and have never met them. I thought it might be classy to bring a bottle of wine to dinner, but I know nothing about wine. Please help.

I am making a pecan pie that calls for egg yolks in the cooked filling using the egg whites for a meringue. I would prefer to use the whole egg if possible and not make the meringue. Would I just cut down on the amount of eggs used?

I have found a great cookie impression idea .I cut out circles in the cookie dough and very carefully, using my neighbors cat, I firmly hold him at my side(he hates me) and use one of his paws to press a design into the christmas cookies I'm making. When I'm done with everything I wipe my hands on him and set him back outside. I have found pieces of cat litter on some of them, but I cover it with colored sugar grandules. Merry Christmas everyone.

I put two in the freezer for two days thinking they would be great to chew on and they're just a little harder, like they're stale but not frozen.

4 eggs and 2 T of sugar are beaten and folded into 12 oz. melted choclate. These are the only ingredients. The receipe is called choclate lave cake. In the picture the appears to be a thin cake shell over the choclate lava that spills out. They are baked for 15 min. in famekins or molds and turned upside down after baking. I find it hard to believe the cake can be made without using flour. It could be that this is just a very thin shell of cakelike matter over the lave but it has me stumped. It looks wonderful and I want to make it but can't see how the finished product as pictured can be accomplished. Help please. Thanks

My husband likes beer and drinks a couple or three cans an evening. He rarely drinks to get drunk and just enjoys how beer tastes. I worry because a) beer costs much more than most other beverages and b) because other men I know don't drink that much in the week. He gets frustrated when I ask him please not to drink so much and I feel unreasonable.
I'd like to know how much other men drink in the week PLEASE!!
