I put two in the freezer for two days thinking they would be great to chew on and they're just a little harder, like they're stale but not frozen.

marshmallows are basically made up of whipped sugar and air, sugar doesnt freeze so therefore your marshmallows wont freeze either. The staleness you are experiencing is the loss of air, so the marshmallow gets tough

They are made of ingredients that do not contain liquid. Just corn syrup and sugar so they can't freeze. The ones you put in the freezer aren't stale, just chewey!

They're mostly air. Only the sugar would freeze so they stay soft.

well leave them in there longer they will freeze and stick together
