Monty Python's fault

What is there about Spam that doesn't instantly cause you to fall head over heals in love. The taste, the smell, the texture, the inspirationally musical nuances contained within its hallowed name.

In addition to this it is popular with meat orientated poets as it rhymes with many usefull everyday objects. Many other meats such as smoked penguin are remarkably hard to fit into poems depicting the oppression of 1930's toffee miners in the yorkshire hills, etc.

Because I learned to my computers detriment that Spam can contain viruses that can knock you out completely. Also some of it when it is a rich prince from Nigeria begging for you to lodge money for him it is just really annoying

Sorry I just realised that you were asking about meat. Don't know the answer to that I don't eat meat.

Oddly enough it is a comfort food. It reminds people of breakfast at grammas or a quick supper while camping - although I can't stand the stuff it has an almost cult like following for the comforting memories many associate with it.

Batter spam and have it with chips and beans and Tomatoe Ketchup. Lovely. I used to have that when I was massive in size. I now eat very healthy. Chicken, salad, jacket potatoe. pasta, etc.

Spam upppp!!!
Very nice on toast I believe, but I wouldnt touch it as its probably mechanically removed and full of nasty ingredients - plus it comes in one those tins that are impossible to open and if you slip, you might just cut yourself down to the bone!!
So - my advice is not to Spam upppp!!!

Because the generation before the Boomers HATE it. They ate it morning, noon, and night during the Great Depression and WWII. My Dad wouldn't have it in his house and my Mother didn't acknowledge that it existed.
For me, it's just a meat product. Handy, tho.
