I know I can poach eggs, but I saw something somewhere (can't remember now) about making other foods in a poacher.

I think it is similar to a long island but have never found a mixologist that really knows.

If one leaves a bottle of fruit juice or punch in the refrigerator for a week or more and it ferments (presumably just from a yeast cell that floats into it from the air in the few seconds when a bottle is opened to pour a drink), how much on average is the percentage of alcohol that results? Do other people than I find these things (most recently for me: a "turned" remainder of Minute Maid mango punch from concentrate) not unpleasant to drink or use as mixers? (I never throw them out!) Especially as they usually seem to be frizzante.

...I like to dare to be different. I don't want to make or buy anything that someone else has already done. We need two gifts, one from me, one from the husband.

We make our own wine, so we've definitely overdone that. I've also done jar gifts a few times. I want something really original. Any other ideas would be fabulous.

My birthday's coming up and my friends want to go out for drinks (which I didn't do until recently, for religious reasons and because my alcohol tolerance is crap). I have severe nut allergies, and one of my friends scared me recently by mentioning that there are liquers distilled from nuts. u put a whole chicken (small one) on top of a can of beer (so its up the chcikens bum)....only half full & u can marinade the chicken if you want, then u cook it on the grill.

my dad says you would need something to hold the chicken up, that it wont stand up there on its own.

but the person that told me about it, didnt mention that. can u help??

I live in Pittsburgh and there used to be a "Mozzarella Cafe" in the mall. The restaurant has changed names and menus a few times and my favorite dish was discontinued. I forget what they called it on the menu, but it was a cold pasta dish with small shell pasta, broccoli and shredded carrots. I think it had red onion, olive oil and some kind of vinegar in it. You could add chicken or shrimp to it. I am 4 months pregnant and craving this so badly, any help would be greatly appriciated! Thanks!

It was like 8 years ago, I don't know the restaurant name or anything, a little hole in the wall place took me and my friends in white on vacation and fed us a great red SPICEY stew with dark meat...maybe beef, over rice they served plantains on the side. All I can remember about the meal is how good, and spicey it was, the sauce was a deep red...not as deep as mole but close! Any help or recipes would be appreciated!
