Does the U K fry their green tomatoes sometimes??

I LOVE THEM! When I was a kid I would be so happy at the end of the gardening season. We'd go out and pick all the remaining tomatoes that hadn't ripened. Some we'd put in a brown paper bag and they'd ripen slowly, I'd save the biggest for green fried tomatoes, what a treat. It was like candy to me.

I love green tomatoes they are my favorite. I make a really good enchilada dish with green tomatoes. Its fantastic and everyone loves it.

I love them. Theres a resteraunt in Galena Illinois called fried green tomatoes that specializes in them. although if you want to make them at home, i like dipping them in egg and then jiffy cornbread mix.
