It's not possible to actually "cook" it in the microwave. However, you can still USE the microwave to cook it.
Boil the water IN the microwave and then put it in after the water is boiling. Then set it OUTSIDE of the microwave. The high temperature of the water will harden the egg in about 10 minutes or so

an egg will explode after a few minute in a microwave oven with no way to release the pressure inside, and if you poke a hole it would just expand and burst through the hole and egg making a large mess inside and possibly getting egg on yer face! Boiling water and then cooking it by soaking for 30 min is a handy way to make deviled eggs.

The egg will explode. Could actually damage the microwave, it does a lot more than make a mess inside.

Crack the egg into a custard cup that's been coated with nonstick cooking spray; gently pierce the yolk (so it doesn't explode). Microwave on MEDIUM for about 1 minute.
