I'm making sausage, peppers and onions sandwiches for dinner tonight and I'm hunting for a nice potato/rice/pasta side dish to go with it. Not really feeling potato salad or pasta salad. Help!

The Hispanic Culture brought us Tex-Mex and Tex-Mex certainly has rural roots in West Texas/Northern New Mexico. So why not Southern Rural claim "Ethnic Cuisine" status. And please ......have fun if you are insecure......but I would prefer serious thoughtful answers.

For my son's first birthday we're having a lunch potluck (around noon). There will be about 25-30 adult guests and maybe 5 little children. The theme is going to be "Teddy Bear Picnic".

First... do you think this is appropriate, an ok idea? (I did not want to cook everything for all those people, and setting the time any later will either make a really short party, or cut into my son's naptime and he will be grouchy.)

Second, what should I say on the invitations, that would convey all this in the best, most concise way?

Any other suggestions would be helpful as well... thanks!

It says on the pack to microwave it for four minutes, but even if i microwave it for 3:30, it burns. So what is the best time to keep in the microwave without it burning and almost all of the corn is popped?
