I am wanting to buy wine, and store it for certain occassions. Whether it is dinner that night, or a special anniversary. I was just not sure if a wine cooler was necessary to store it, or if it is just a fancy thing to have? What are the benefits of having one, as opposed to just keeping it on the counter. Thanks.

I had some friends that went to Amsterdam and they tried absythne...among other things. They told me about it and I REALLY want to try it. Can I find it here? Where? How much? Thanks for the help!

I have four pieces of frozen salmon (I guess they're called salmon steaks?) and I want to make something for dinner tonight. I've never cooked salmon before and want something with fairly little prep time and a great result! Any suggestions? OH...and I need specific directions....I'm not a great chef (yet!)

I strongly favor champagne and very dry white wines. Any red wine that I have tasted (not many) has been too sweet and/ or too wet. Is there such thing as a dry red wine? What would you recommend for somebody with my taste? Even among the whites, I do not care for the very fruity tastes.

OK, I have been told that reds go with brown food, and whites go with white food, and that makes sense.
Specificaly, what about chicken served in red sauce with pasta?
What about a veggie pizza (although I usually prefer beer with this)?
What about blushes?
I had thought that Zifandel was a blush, but the bottle I picked up today, appears to be a red. Am I confusing it wiht something else?

Please be nice and please don't just cut and paste Wikipedia.
