Never heard of a ''a round of toast'' before !!

I've always known the term 'a round of toast' to be enough toast to feed everyone round the table.

Like a round of beer.

When this bread first came out bolona was round and so was some other lunchmeats,People wanted bread to match the shape of their lunch meat.Also some people like bread instead of hamburger buns for homemade hambugers.

In the good,or bad, old days loaves were round therefore a slice obread was round ......thus a round of toast .....also sandwiches!
