To bread things like onions and mushrooms, can u just throw them in flour and deep fry them?

These are round squash with flattened ends, the largest being about 14" in diameter. They are dark green with a few pale white stripes running vertically down the sides. I cut one open, and it has a bright orange flesh. These were given to me by a friend who didn't mention what they were on his note. Whatever could they be? Any ideas would be appreciated! I can always look up pics on the net if I have a few names of squashes to google. Thanks!

My club at school is going to have a booth at a parade downtown. It will be cold (in november) and its basically a getting-ready-for-the-chirstmas-season parade. We need ideas for something easy to sell their; food-wise. Last year we have sausage sandwiches, but we want something that would attract more people. We need to be able to make it their, or have it prepared, but keep outside. There are outlets, so we can plug in appliances and what-not. Please, if you have ANY ideas, let me know!


And it has to be fairly inexpensive! :)

Does anyone know where I can buy some durian or durian chips? It's a Thai fruit that they make into a paste ans make into chips. I think it might be specialty food. I don't care if you only have a website, that's good. I live in NY so if you have a place in NYC that even better. Thanx all!

I am looking into purchasing a professional-grade yet affordable cookware set. I have seen both of these as highly recommended, however the emeril is slightly more expensive. Can anyone recommend which is a better purchase? I need stainless steel, over safe, and am an avid amateur chef so quality and performance is very important. I keep reading this from experts that say that bottled water absorbs some of the chemicals from the plastic bottle it comes in and that it's best just to drink tap water. To me, I just can't stand the taste of tap water. I taste the chlorine bleach they put in it, and who know how safe it really is. I really do love the taste of bottled water...Aquafina is my favorite.

Ok, i have never before drank before i met a certain friend. Since then i have been buzzed a few times, and all he had was top of the line drinks. Grey Goose, PAtrone etc. My favorite is patrone .Well just recently i have been drunk for the first time. My friend said i acted like a mental patient. I remember falling on my a$$ quite a few times, and wanting to dance when it was 3 am and we were already home. Someone tell me their most memorable experience while drunks. *tip i'm never drinking enough to be intoxicated again.*

It's my night to make dinner and I want to make something different. I always make the same easy stuff (pesto pasta and grilled shrimp sometimes, a 6th grade foods class recipe for enchiladas, etc.).
