You never told us where you live. If you're looking for a soul food restaurant in Maine, or Vermont, or Wisconsin (and a few other states) fried chicken is the closest thing you're going to get to soul food.

There is an awesome soul food buffet in Charlotte, NC. I've also been to a great little hole in the wall in Murfreesboro, TN - with the most awesome southern cooking I've ever tasted. Worth the trip!!
