I'm doing some research and I've come across something that says Eastern Europeans (Russia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania) wear their wedding ring on their right hand and if they're divorced or widowed they wear it on thier left. I'd also like to know what the ring custom in Cyprus is as well if anyone can tell me I'd be grateful.

My friend is Indian, and is likely to have a wedding soon, which would be in India (I'm in Australia). I have to choice of going to India and seeing the wedding, or celebrating at the after party in Australia.

My only concern is that it will cost me nearly $3000 to travel to India, which means taking out a small loan. Is it worth it or should I just stay here in Australia?

My husband and I drove 1 1/2 hours in teeming rain to attend a wedding. 1 month before the wedding I asked not to be seated with a certain someone, then asked again if my wish was granted last week. Well, I got there and lo and behold I was seated with the person I asked not to be seated with. I simply walked out. I gave my card with $200.00 in it and went to some shitty diner. I just couldn't think of myself spending 4 hours at a table sitting across the person I didn't want to be seated with and trying not to look their way all night long. Would you have done the same?

OK so if the people getting married have to pay for the wedding, should they even bother wasting all that money. I mean if you look at it literally, a wedding cost a lot of money, and pretty much is just to get people together so that they can have fun. Why do people get expensive weddings? I dont know if its really for them, or for the people that are gonna go and so that the guest can enjoy themselves. I personally think that big wedding are unecessary unless youve got alot of $$$. But for normal people I dont know. What do you think about wedding, is it good to spend all that $$$ for a party, or use that money for a cool get away, or a house? I know of alot of people that save up for years so that they can get married, and by married I mean have like a cool reception and church. Is it worth it to spend thousands of dollars on a party?

..All but 2 people gave us money, so I do I think someone for money without sound dumb. I didn't use there money to buy anything, I just used it to pay off the wedding.

All I remember about this bridal shop is that it is huge, well known and on their brochure, they have a picture of their building. If I'm not mistaken, the building is red, but not positive.

I am 28. I've been married almost 6 years. My husband and I decided to renew our vows and have a wedding. Its a year away(10-20-07-we wanted to take our time, plan it right and not go broke) . My question is since we have decided to do this, it seems that almost my every waking thought has been "wedding". Is this normal?
I just want to make sure i am not going crazy or turn everything into a disaster by obsessing over every little detail.
(a side note. We did not have a wedding when we first got married. We eloped. So i never got to do any of this the first time.)

My daughter's high school friend was getting married this summer. When I ran into her I asked her where she was registered, and she told me two different places. I sent her a gift from my daughter and one from me (both kitchen items, not high dollars.)

I got told later by several women that I should not have sent a gift, as we were not invited to the wedding. It would make the bride feel bad, and obligated to invite us (she didn't, ever.) I didn't even think of that, I thought, you like someone, they get married, you send a present and best wishes. Was I wrong on this? I have older daughters who have many friends and this will happen a lot over the next 10 years!

I know diamonds look pretty but, why do you have to spend so much to say I love you. I know that the diamond industry has poured 100's of millions into advertising to make people belive that its a part of getting married, buying a diamond ring. They put it in movies, soap operas, commmercials, its everywhere, and it no coincidence. So what do you think.
