I agree with the Simple Man song the original one...Lynard Skynard for you and your son....You really need to listen to the song and you can get the lyrics from lyrics.com if you dont know them...it is an awesome song for a Mother and son...
I have to disagree totally with the Daddys little Girl for your daughter and her Step-father (Step being the key word) Unless this step father has raised her from birth and she has absolutely no idea who her birth father is... It is kind of rude to have her dance a very important song that should be RESERVED for her and her biological father at HER wedding... That is an issue for you and her to discuss and let her have some say on it and also be respectful to her biological father and her ...she is not gonna want to tell you the truth for fear of disappointing you on your day.

"Side by Side" by Kate Smith her version is very good and words say it all: "Don't have a barrel of money maybe were ragged and funny but we travel along singin a song side by side Through all kinds weather what if the sky should fall..but as long as were together it doesn't matter at all" ....really good words to communicate to the kids that your marriage won't change a thing in terms of how it will always be for them and you Oh and Moon River by Henry Mancini there are two versions instramental or the song version by Andy Williams for your Daughter Good Luck and Congratulations!!!!

For the reception, you should dance with your son, "Ain't No Other Man" (see itunes for preview). This song is about the most important man in your life. The wedding symbolizes a transition in your life; marriage to the love of your life; but like your son, there "ain't no other man"!

"Daddy's Hands" by Holly Dunn would be a good one for your daughter and her new step-father. Other idea would be "My Girl" by The Temptations.
As far as a song for you and your son, how about "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack.

I think it's called Wonderful World by Louie Armstrong. The one that goes "I see Sky's of blue, trees of green, and red roses too but most of all I see you and I think to myself what a wonderful world." I love this song I danced to it with my brother-in-Law at my wedding it was beautiful.

Might be a bit cheesy, but how about "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler?
