Singles & Dating - 18 March 2007

The 1950's and 60's were loaded with great Musicals that depicted Love and life.

Once I had a date with Sandi in Brooklyn, who lived quite a distance from me. Long walk . I was 16 and it was the 60s.

along the way , I found myself singing songs on the way (out loud) I sang "Tonight I fell in Love" I sang
"Tonight, tonight" and I sang "Tonight" from West Side Story.

I realize that that age is gone but has this ever happened to you in any form?

i know it sounds unusual to ask my ex-girlfriend if its ok with her if i start dating someone..
but i just did and what ive got was no response from her, i tried calling her but she doesnt answer my calls anymore..
the reason why im trying to do this is that i want to be sure if i really have to move on and forget about her coz i still do love her.

why is she acting this way? is it possible that she still loves me that's why she doesnt say a word

Whenever im around a guy i like, or find attractive i feel very self conscious and intimidated. Furthermore when i dance with a guy, i feel like im outside my comfort zone. I have grown up without a dad, so have had no male influence in my life, which i think does not help, so im not really used to being around men and feel uncomfortable around them. I also lack confidence in myself, due a facial problem and braces (not gonna go into details - but my mates say that i am a good lookin girl, i just don't feel it at times). For instance, i was dancing with guy at club, but could not make proper eye contact, as i felt fairly uncomfortable, thinking that they will be judging me or noticing that i am not very attractive, compared to other girls.

Any advice much appreciated, as this is hindering me when out at socialising and meeting/dancing with guys i like

I have been living with my boyfriend for about a year and we aren't engaged yet, but have plans to marry in the near future. He has an ex-girlfriend of 4 years in hs and college and they still talked for up to 2 years until we met. It was a very serious relationship and she repeatedly cheated on him and he kept going back to her because he was so in love. I'm not sure why this bothers me so much but I think about it every day. We are very happy together but I am always wondering if he would be with her right now if we hadn't met. I can't undo the past but it bothers me so much that he had such strong feelings for her. It makes me feel like I am his second choice. Do these feelings ever go away or should I get out of the relationship? I hate feeling inadequate and I'm not sure if it will ever get better. He doesn't talk to her or anything -- I am just stuck on something I can't change. He gets frustrated every time I bring it up.

That's what my wife said, when she asked for a divorce.
It really hurt. All I've ever done was provide for her and the children.
I left that evening only to have her walk up to me @ a bar and say I knew she would be there with her friends. She didn't appear to be upset @ all.
It ripped my heart out.
How can you love someone too much?

There's this guy that I love. He's 22 and I'm 18. We've been friends since I was 12 and he was 15. Were sorta friends right now. Deep in my heart, I know he's the one. The problem is, he's dating this girl and still accepting my letters and checking up on me daily when he sees my grandmother and cousin around. They talk about a lot of stuff together about me. He never writes to me or calls me to let me know how he feels about me when I ask in the letters I write him. I don't know what he's doing and why he's doing to begin with. Is he in love with me or what? I spoke to his brother a while back and he has over 100 letters from me in his room that he's kept since our friendship. What's the deal? is what I'm asking. He's has a girlfriend and moved on with his life why he is trying to fit into mines?

Viagra, Cialis, you know the spam mails promising three hour erections and more. Heck the fella doesnt even know if I am a guy or a gal. And how uncouth of the peddler to assume my piddler needs back up. Assuming it is a low day and some aid is in order, who has the time for three hour marathons? Heck, most gals these days can spare barely an hour or two between their yoga classes and ikebena lessons assuming thats where they really are when they claim to be pressed for time. SO for my one hour tete-a tete I took a third of the blue pill with a prorated assumption that the deal would be just right and last a whole hour, enough for an evenings intimacy. But by the time the potion jumpstarted my wagon the caboose was long gone and the closest creature in sight was the neighbour's labrador. Nowadays I delete those enticing offers as soon as it hits the inbox in order to ward off any future fiascos. Any real studs out there that is in working order that popped the whole pill and survived?

telling her parents about all her lies to them, her condoms under her bed, her constant overnight sexual affairs, how she wanted to bang me almost in every room in her parents house. Her parents are very religious and i was gonna send a letter to them exposing all her BS, what she put me through, and get her in trouble. I figured that would destroy her current relationship too. Basically I was the girl in high school was teased and had few friends. I was ugly and awkward looking with glasses and braces. Now I am 19 and finally met a great guy. Never been in a relationship and thought he was out of my league and my friends say I am out of his league bc I am pretty and have a great personality and caring. How many women show interest in a guy and only give him subtle body clues to show your attraction towards him?

Do you always or at least expect him to come up to you?

I am a 34 year old man who came out of a four year relationship about a year ago. My ex-girlfriend didnt treat me well, constantly putting me down and lowering my self esteem. The new realtionships I have started up since have been problematic. If the girls have been nice and treated me well I have lost interest quickly. Where as if the girls dont treat me well I feel lucky to be with them, become a bit obsessed with them and try to get serious way too quick which again eventually ends in disaster.
Ideally I want to meet someone who treats me well that I can get to know slowly and not hit self destruct. My last attempt has left me feeling awful. I was with her for a couple of months, I became too serious, too early. She said she wanted to end it because she wasn't ready for it. Any advice please

There is a lady i work with in a different office about 200 miles away and we have been emailing each other for about a month and exchanged pictures and talked on the bussiness phone work related and personnel matters her freind emails me and gives hints that she is very interested she is always asking me about the other women in my life and i always tell her the only women in my life right now is my daughter. Well she gave me her number for me or another girl i work with, who is like a sister to me, to call her so i call her a couple of days ago, twice and no answear. she did not email me the next day and thats not like her at all she usually has 2 emails waiting on me when i get to work. Why can’t the commitment be there without the red tape? Why does she think I don’t really love her just because I don’t want to get married? I’ve been divorced my ex was a cheater and this is what made me feel like the papers are useless. If I say I love her forever why does she not trust me? Why must there be more.
