That's what my wife said, when she asked for a divorce.
It really hurt. All I've ever done was provide for her and the children.
I left that evening only to have her walk up to me @ a bar and say I knew she would be there with her friends. She didn't appear to be upset @ all.
It ripped my heart out.
How can you love someone too much?

That's a lame excuse.

The only aspect where that could be applied would be in a case where someone was being stalked, but even then that's more of an obesession. She probably just didn't want to hurt your feelings with the real reason.

You can't love someone too much. A person can smother someone too much, but that's different. And you shouldn't think that this is your fault or anything. She didn't seem to give you any warning, she just wanted the marriage over. There is a woman out there who will appreciate who you are, it just sounds like, unfortionately, you haven't found her yet.

She sounds as if she was feeling very overwhelmed with all the things you were doing for her and the amount of time and effort you take to show just how much you love her. It's not that she didn't appreciate it, I'm sure she did. It's just that it was too much for her.

Because they arent used to being loved that way, my ex was the same, I was the first bf she had you wanted her to do things, decide what we did, to have fun and I was there for her romatically, for support and everything, but she said it was "too much." And all I did was my best, sometimes there is nothing you can do, you just have to meet someone who realises how rare it is to truly love someone.

No, you can't love someone too much.... it sounds like she loves herself more than she loves you. I hope that doesn't sound harsh. Do yourself a favor and find someone who loves you as much as you do her. You deserve better.
