Maybe I just think that it is stupid because I do not believe in messing with peoples emotions just to benefit yourself... it is cruel to the third party... you know?

They are insecure and probably want their ex back. They are just trying to make it seem like their ex meant nothing to them and that they can get someone else. Yes, very childish but common.

They go out with other people to make there Ex jealous becuase there pride is hurt. They think if other people wnat me than hes gonna realize what he lost and ask me back out. That works like 15% of the time. Most people can see write though that and just think there being imature. Its stupid

It's just their way of saying that they can easily move on like that. Basically people who've been scorned want to get revenge.
But I completely agree with the aspect of immaturity.

I know it is. I have done it once tho. To a an who thought that a skinny ditzy dumb blonde would make a better girlfriend. (the opposite of me) So I dated the opposite of him (smart, tall, dark and handsome) And now we are married. It's all a part of the human mating game.....and we are the pawns

I went out w/ a cheating ex's best friend who really liked me just to piss off and humiliate the cheating ex. I have to say his reaction felt pretty good, mature or not.
