My stepdaughter is 8 years old, and I am having a difficult time accepting her just the way she is. How can I change? Why is it so easy to discipline her, or give her basic instructions that I "feel" she needs all the time. How can I love her just because...just for the sake of loving her. How can I really become her dad? Since her real one decided a long time ago not to give her the time of day. She's a beautiful little young woman....and all she wants is my love...simple and pure.

I am about 30 years old dating a wonderful woman (who is the same age). We are very much in love. She challenges me in so many amazing ways and generally makes me a better man. We have been dating for about 2 years. We have discussed having kids several times and each time, my gf has made it clear, she doesn't want them. She has even thought that possibly after meeting me, she would change her mind (the "when you find the right person, you'll want them argument) but that hasn't happened. I am undecided. I have NO desire to have kids for at least 5 years. I never really gave it any thought in the past and just always expected that I would have them, cause thats what society says you should do. Now, I'm really torn and uncertain because I love this woman so much but I'm unsure if deciding to forgo kids is the right choice for me. I feel like I may let people down if I don't have them. At the same time, I don't want to lose the love of my life esp since I am not ready now. Help?

Okay I recently worked up the courage to pop the big question and hoorey we're now enaged. We finally broke the news to the family and friends. They were all happy and smothering us with congratulations.Well I thought they were all happy,my cousin was all happy and smiling giving us her best and she puts on a bright smile around the rest of the family, but i've noticed recently that she's become very distant with my fiancee, they were always very close and instantly clicked,so I don't understand the sudden change. Now she'll hardly stay in the same room as her,she won't talk with her, hardly wants to even look at her,I asked my fiancee if they'd had a fight but that's not the case,it has to be something to do with the engagment as she avoids the subject like the plague, but I can't figure out why exactly. So i'll ask the oracles on Yahoo, why do you think she is acting this way?

I want to make him feel special once again, but we are simple, yet sentimental people.

I am a bisexual woman who is in love with her bestfriend who is also female. We have known each other for four years, and spend most of our free time together. She knows I am bisexual and she has admited to being curious. We are quite similar but different as well, we understand each other. We have both been single for over 6 months, though I have been in love with her for years. I can't imagine my life without her, I want to grow old with her, no matter how cliche. She is exceptionally beautiful, funny, sarcastic, and a little bit wild, and I feel drab compared to her. She is my world. I don't know if she loves me back, and I am too afraid of losing her by telling her my feelings. I need her in my life, and if that means remaining her friend and never telling her, so be it. So my question is this: should I tell her and take the risk of happiness/damnation, or should I remain her friend and forever be plagued by "what if"?

What do you think I could say to her that she would listen to?
She is my niece. I don't see her very often.

How many times a day does your partner say, "I love you"? Do you think it's important? I do.

I'm throwing these items away, so I called the department of sanitation for a special pickup, and they said there was no need for that because the garbagemen would be able to take it all. How could the truck fit all these big items inside?

my best friend doesnt want anything to do with me.If she sees me she says as little as possible, when I call her she says shes got to go because shes in the store buying groceries or shes on the other line or etc....She says nothings wrong, that I didnt do anything and we are still friends but she is always putting me off.We where best friends for years and now I dont know who she is.She acts as if she doesnt care if I fell off a bridge. She is hard hearted now.Her actions speak for her but she wont tell me the truth ,she only makes me feel so bad.How and why did she get so heartless to me.?We are in our thirties and we have been friends since grade school.

I recently found out my sister works as an exotic dancer. I discovered this on the web because she also has her own site. It appears that she has been doing this for at least the last few years but she managed to hide this from us somehow. The odd thing is I would think strippers would make quite a bit of money but she never has money practically. She is always behind on bills. Her car isn't even running quite right. She recently moved back in with family. (where she doesnt have to pay rent) So I have no clue where her money is going. Do you think drugs? How much do strippers make?

I guess this is for mature people in relationships, married or dating....Im a university student. I would probably describe myself as that guy who always just ends up being the "friend" and nothing more to girls. Ive dated a couple of girls but havent been interested since the last time Ive dated a girl (she broke up with me and it was pretty disheartening). I was wondering if anyone has been in this position before and what they have done about it. Thanks

All I need is any unsolved business and a reason to stay when I die, right?

Being dead and able just to see him is better than living my life and wishing I was with him again.

Ok so i'm 14 no guys have EVER had crushes on me i feel unloved, i know that my family loves me but thats not the same thing as a boy my age. I have even made up my own imaginary boyfriend, gave him an email address and mailed myself back and forth. I feel depressed and lonely. But i don't want some desperate guy that only likes me for my body (wink, wink nod nod) i want a real guy who likes me for me. I'm i in a serious depression or just drama queen? what can i do to either get guys to like me or to get me to forget them?

January, I met a man in one of my classes. In the beginning, it seemed that we were going to be good friends (nothing more then that).

However, as time progresses ... he's been acting a little wierd. Like he's been really paranoid :O Also, his general character is very instense, head-strong and a bit aggrasive.

If I talk to any of my other friends (who are males), he'll get angry.

Also, my friend and I planned a day together because she and I are always too busy to hang-out. The same day, he called and asked me to break my plans with my friend to go out with him instead. One weekend, when I was really busy, he told his friends that I didn't want to go out with him so I ingnored his calls. Ummm, last time I checked he said that we were friends and I agreed ... at least thats what I thought. He's been very persistant lately,

I don't know, I feel I'm being pushed into a relationship here ... something that I didn't agree to. Should I go out with him? Or Remain Friends or ....

My friend is in his 20's and he feels that right now in his life, he really wants to focus on getting school done, solving and dealing with financial stress, work, etc...I've noticed that he's matured alot in the way he talks and the way he carries himself. He was always the guy who was "too nice" but now doesn't take any sh*t. He doesn't go out as much anymore - not every weekend - he'll drink on some ocassion.

Just recently, we found out that we've liked each other for the longest time but doesn't wanna pursue anything w. me right now because of all those things i've mentioned above. He's soo into making things work for him in his life right now. He said that when we do go out, he wants it to be "long lasting and serious" but that's not right now. The thing that surprised me was that he didn't make any promises to me (like what other guys usually do)

Is this guy in that "manhood" stage? Is he putting off a relationship with me cuz he cares?

My boyfriends mom died. It was unexpected. He doesnt want me to go to the funeral that is out of town. I have no problem getting there and I want to be there for him. He says it would be too much trouble for me to go. We have been together for a year and have no problems. All is great. I dont understand why he isnt wanting me to be around.
