What do you think I could say to her that she would listen to?
She is my niece. I don't see her very often.

What's up "supertop"
I think she needs help, and I know that it may be hard, but I would tell her parents. Unfortunately, there is not much else you can do, maybe try to taking her to a pregnancy crisis center to volunteer. IDK

Blessings!

Tell her... a baby can wait... she's got her entire life to raise a child and fall in love. Having a baby young can make her miss out on some of the best things in life. You might want to try Brittney Spears as an example... some people just cant handle the responsibility if they're not ready for it. Then let her know of the responsibilities playing especially on the financial issue and non-stop care - no time to go out with her friends because she'll always have to take care of the baby

Wanting to have a baby and trying to conceive are two different things.A 13 yr old girl saying she wants to have a baby is the same as saying she wants to marry prince Charming. As long as it is only role playing I wouldn't be concerned. But if she is having unprotected sex or speaking about having sex,she needs to be counseled on the dangers of diseases she could catch.I think if she can talk to you about this, she seems to be looking up to you, maybe as a role model? So if you can, want, let her know what a tremendous responsibility a baby is.The constant care, the exspenses, physical, emotional, psycholgical strain of single parenting. At her age she should be trying to find out who she is, and making that person the best she can be.She needs to love herself in order to love someone else.To have a baby to fill a void,to have someone to love "me',is a big mistake.

I did this with my daughter when she told me she was ready to have sex. I stopped being mom for a day or two and had her take care of the other kids. My husband and I were there in case of emergencies. She had to get up with the baby in the middle of the night and change poopie diapers, feed them and give them bathes, spend time with them, love and hold them and do it all over again in the morning. After the first night she told me that she never wanted kids of course now that she is grown that has changed but it really did help.
Also, I showed her everything in a mdeical book that can happen when you have sex(diseases,etc.). She didn't bring up sex again or babies until she was old enough.

That she needs professional help. It is probably some insecurity issue, but if she things that would solve anything she is obviously not very mature even for 13. Start giving her hard jobs, since she would have to provide for the child, let her take care of one during all this. She needs to realize the pressure and how hard it really it.

Let her take care of a baby (a few months old) for a couple of days (with adult supervision, of course, but let her do all the work). She'll get over it real quick.

Second thing to do is figure out what's lacking in her life that she thinks having a baby will fulfill. Unconditional love, something to love her back? Good luck.

tell her to stop and think about what she is going to do with her life ask her well di you want a job to pay for food, clothes, bibs and other stuff like diapers and that stuff and finally ask her why do you want a baby at that age it can kill a person if they have a baby too early tell her to STOP and THINK about it

I think she should think of the responsibilities of having a child at such a young age.
