It's been 22 years since I married my ex. I was only 18 then. I divorced him due to abuse and placed our son for adoption because I knew I wasn't ready to raise a child at that point. Since then, I went back to college, got my degree, straightened my life around, got stable work and remarried-- this time to a good man. I have tried very hard over the years to "make things right" with my family, but they want nothing to do with me. They all say it's because of my mistakes back when I was 18. I've grown up and moved on with my life. The rest of my family is close-knit, but I'm the outcast despite doing everything I thought I was supposed to do to fix the problems. Why won't my family accept me back into the group even after all this time?

My daughter asked to move back in at home.I said she could if she helped around the house,but the only time she helps is when I tell her to.She does not have a job plays xbox a lot-online Halo.I clean only to wake up to dishes dirty that I did not have when I went to bed.Is this respect or not??

My mother inlaw is driving me and my husband up the wall something shocking. Hubby can't be in the room without wanting to kill her. She says and does stupid stuff all the time. When she rings we don't answer the phone and when she leaves a message on the machine it all rubbish and sometimes she sings. What do I do before I want to kill her?

Ever since my mom and dad divorced, OUr family has split up and we couldn't have a good christmas this year. My mom has no family in California, they are all in Mexico. My dad, on the other hand, has almost all of his family around him and they all gang up on my mom and make her feel bad. I had to choose who i wanted to spend christmas with and that made christmas feel like crap to me. If I choose my mom, my dad gets really depressed. If I choose my dad, my mom gets depressed. If you were in my situation, who would you choose?

My family has been horrible to me for so many years, 'forgetting' to invite us to family functions, telling me I am not doing well in life, negative remarks to me and about me always, etc.
I'm happy with my girls and to bad I'm not as well off financially as they are.
I didn't call them over the holidays because they will probably say they 'forgot' or that 'they did' mention where Christmas would be this year but I haven't heard from none of them since Labor Day. My daughters and I had a blast at my friends who also has kids and I just don't want to see family on Christmas either and not sure when I do. Maybe their my illness. Am I short changing my girls of family by not wanting to be part of their 'get togethers' ?

i grew up with an abusive brother and a relative. i am now in my 20s and plan to kick them out of my life as one of them is still abusive. both have scarred me emotionally and i just cant bring myself to forgive them because of the pain they've brought in my life. .when someone is in an abusive relationship they get out, but in my situation they are someone i am related with. is it wrong for me to cut ties with these people.?

My stepsons are 17 and 19 - and think the world owes them something. My wife is great but these kids do not say thank you, or make an effort to be friendly - nor does she make them. They ignore me and spend hours ((full wasted days) in front of the TV or computer while any extra help around the house is not given. Just venting but what do you think? Should I rock the boat and give them cr@p or lay low?

Maternal grandma (new wife of maternal grandpa) birthday Nov 27th

Oh and by the way my birthday is the 25th
I had two aunts who were sisters born only five days apart in the same month. One was on the 20th and another on the 26th.

I have been in my current relationship for a little over 2 years now. We're going to get married once I finish school. I've grown quite close with my inlaws. My son has a different father, but is treated as if he was born into this family. My problem is that my son's father is giving me a hard time about my son calling my fiance's parents grandma and grandpa. This would be the only grandfather that he has because 1 is dead and the other is non existent. He does NOT call my fiance dad. I'm curious what you think? I think it's ok. I don't mind if my son picks up extra grandparents in his life, as long as I'm never replaced. if you think it's ok... any words of advice for defense to cool things down on that side? His mom seems to be quite offended by all this. (she often speaks for her son through his son... squawking in the background when I'm on the phone trying to converse with him... ya she's one of those)

25 years before my father and uncle went to malaysia, thn after a few months my dad came back but my uncle was still there, soon my father passed away and now me and my family have no idea of where my uncle is, where he would have gone. We live in Karachi, Pakistan. My uncle would have ran out of visa and could be in jail. We have his Identity Card and his photograph too. So anybody please guide me who to ask or what to do to find him.

My step dad died day after birthday of throat cancer he fought 4 14 months.Dog died in May of liver, spleen cancer & hind legs paralyized!Didn't even know she was sick! Find 1 day & seizing the next!I cried more over losing dog then step dad! She was my daughter!My step dad I loved him but when growing up he was an acholic & abusive BUT he was the 1 who promised sister & I a dog!I miss them both very much! I have a new pup 6m old & I love her but not the same! When I was wrapping presents I kept forgetting that I didn't have 2 get for them. My mom cries ALL the time & she is mad that I don't! She EXPECTS me 2 cry! I don't 2 let he down but I don't like crying in front of people & she knows this. I miss them so much & love them so much! This is the 1st Christmas w/o either & it doesn't feel like Christmas! I feel like I'm looking in on everything from above me. Like a 3rd person! I know that when I cry my hubby gets upset so I keep everything in! I just don't know what 2 do.
