If you are related by marriage, then it may not be so bad (depending on beliefs and sometimes geographical location). Who am I to judge?
If you are blood relatives, then you need to concentrate on a new love. In the Biblical days, this was done to replenish the earth, but in this day, it's call incest.
I know I wouldn't do it (in accordance with my beliefs), but you make the call. You're responsible for your own life anyways...ya know?
How old are you? Sounds like you should be sticking to the books and concentrating on finishing school first. I could be wrong.

Is it a blood family member? If so then yes being "in love" with them would be wrong but caring about them and loving them maybe more than other family members is possible but bf/gf is wrong for closely related blood family members. If the family member is step or adopted some would still say it is wrong but it isn't as wrong as blood. How related are they?

Yes it's wrong and you need to hang around other people instead of getting to the point that you would actually fall in love with a relative. How closely related is this person.. is it someone new in your family from marriage?
As for these "south" comments, get a clue people and actually spend some time in the south and enlighten yourselves.

Yes, sorry but that is wrong. You may just feel more attached to this family member than others, but I'm quite sure (I hope!) that's all this is. It is family, and you're meant to love them, but you shouldn't be 'in love' with them. And it isn't just a Southern thing. That's just people's ignorance showing through when they say that. It is incest though, and it can cause many many problems. So dear, please try and find where these feelings are coming from, and try to cut it off. But if you can't, you need to explain what you're feeling to a counselor at your school or your parents. You do need to rid yourself of these feelings. Best of luck! -Alyssa

I'd be guessing you're talking about a non-blood family member like an in-law? Yes, it's a ta-boo. But how many people really care about upholding morals these days?........

yes and no. cant change how we feel about people, only reason that marring a sibling is against the law is the affect it can have on offspring..(retardation etc... ). American culture says its wrong. That don't mean much to many though

Back away from any inappropriate love connection. I think you know right from wrong. Be careful and thoughtful with your emotions.

It is very unusual. I would not encourage this unless it was a VERY distant relation. If it is a first/second/third cousin never removed...forget it. Just easier that way.
