Family - October 2006

We used to have a great relationship but now things are weird and I'm not very comfortable around them. We still haven't spoken and I just want to know how to fix this.

Im on the travel basketball team for my church. i am only 13 years old. I just dont kno what to do.... my mom and dad keep saying that im not that good. They say that i dont really get into it as much as my other sports. every practice there watching me and they keep making me feel like i dont belong on the team!? I dont consider myself horrible. Im not the best but 100% not the worst. What should i do? Stay on or leave. any advice? thanks so much!

im too scared after having the stomach flu several times, i know that stomach pain is worst. more importantly, i dont want to do what you half to do to get pregnant cuz thats so freakin gross. im 13, and i really want kids someday, but as you can see i wouldnt be the best at getting them.

i read this thing about nail biting on the net.. here's what i saw:

When to worry about nail biting
In rare cases, severe nail biting can signal excessive anxiety. Consult your child's doctor or school nurse if he's biting his nails so intently that his fingertips are sore or bloody, if his nail biting is accompanied by other worrisome behaviors, such as picking at his skin or pulling his eyelashes or hair out, or if he's not sleeping well. Also consult your child's doctor if his nail biting habit surfaced suddenly and escalated quickly. In either case, professional counseling may be in order.

i do all those things. do you think i should tell my mom? she's not the one who's very nice and understands her kids. she doesnt take time to listen for what i have to say. who should i talk to about it?

ps. i dont want to go to the doctor cause they might call her and i dont wanna talk to her about it.

This gurl thinks my sis ditched her, but she didnt understand that my sis wuz jus making new friends, and this gurl has been mad at my sis 4 2 years. She has been trying to tell her she is sorry but this gurl wont listen.

I have helped many family members in their time of need and i get bit everytime. Helped my bother when he found out he had cancer and he asked me to take care of all his business and i did and people in the family thought i was stealing from him but i did not. He died in peace knowing that everything was taken care of. My sister is in a nursing home and she needs to stay she is 87 and can not take care of herself has problems remembering things and has almost burned her house down and i took care of her house and her belongs and sold them for her and gave her the money and made sure everything was taken care of. Then she accused me of stealing from her and i never took anything from her. My question is why are family so mean when you are trying to help them and they have noone else they can count on. I will never help anyone else.

My daughter suddenly wants to take a sandwich to school when she never has liked sandwiches.
She also used to wear t-shirts with cute sayings such as "CIA..Cute, Intelligent, Adorable"....but now won't even look at such clothes when we shop together.
She also always loved having her hair long but now it is quite short, especially in the back.
Well at least she has a job now and she and I are still VERY close.

I left my mom's house because she was very overbearing even though I am 21 and I was raised in an abusive environment for as long as I can remember. She wants me to come back home because she is worried about how she will present herself around other people and my dad is harassing her because I moved out. Since I am a Christian I am worried that moving out was a sinful act because it was against their will. Is this something they'll eventually get used to?

I'd really like to get with this Asian girl I know but I'm afraid of what my parents will say or do. They've always been they type that say that people should "stick to their own kind." I woulnd't be afraid of what they'd say to me. I'm strong and could take it. But what if I wanted to take her home one day? I'm afraid they might hurt her feelings or such. What should I do?

I have 2 kids,i have no relationship with my father but my eldest child asks about him a lot,i'm wondering if i should take them to visit him? The thing is i have severed my ties with him a long long time ago & have no wish for a relationship with him for myself. I feel sorry for my kids as they used to have a relationship with their grandfather on their fathers side but their dad doesn't really play a part in their lives these days & his parents have separated so they really can't see him anymore..

Any suggestions for me??? I'm really stuck on this...

She goes on myspace and tells about how she is misunderstood & how her family is unsupportive of her & judgemental but she is LAZY, dropped out of school, is 20 yrs old & weighs atleast 400 lbs and stays on the internet all day. Ok-So I think I'm going to contact the man who might be my father-who Ive never met, never even seen a picture of, who might not even be aware of the fact that I exsist.
