Is there such a thing as "true love?" The reason I ask is that my observations of the world today indicate that there are more people getting divorced, getting cheated on, and breaking up than there are happy couples that are in love and stay in love. I mean, are humans mentally and physically capable of staying in love with someone and being faithful to each other?

today is my birthday and my ex was going to ask me back out and he didnt and them when i told my best friend she said she talked ot him and i mean i really still like him and he still likes me and she ssid that he said that i wasnt his type because i want to wait to have sex till i am at least a senior cause i am only in 8th grade and i mean he said he wanted to break up with his girlfriend cause she was to sexually active and i think he wants me to do other things that i am not ready for i dont want to go out with him if he wants that but how do i stop likeing him

ok im about 17 and have gone through soo much crap in my life its not even funny! I used to cut and had stoped last year after i had finaly told my family. But the other day i just couldnt take it anymore soo i cut. I want to tell my mom but i no she will just yell at me! My mother boyfriend runs her life and all us kids as well. I hate him soo much and want to to just go away! He is about 20 years older then my mom and b/c he has money thinks he can just tell us what to do. My mom is just "soo in love" with him that she doent care about us kids! Yesterday i came home from a long day at school and just wanted to sleep but he started yelling at me about somthing i didnt clean right and my mom just sat there and didnt say anything. I cant do it anymore and dont no what to do. He doent do anything around the house and neather does my mom. Its all me and my 2 brothers.plz help and plz dont be mean about my cutting you really dont no the whole story! THANKS

and i want 2 get 2 kno him. he is really nice and funny. my friends think that I make it too obvious I like him. I want 2 do some reasearch on him by myself, but how do i do it casually and start convos without going all up in his face like "Whats your favorite color... Sport? I like basketball, dont you? I know I just posted a question on this.. but I have another.

Today I came upon an instant msg convo between my mother, whose been married to my father for 28 years, and an "online friend". Disturbing things were said, such as her saying she wished he could give her a back rub, wanting him to move closer, etc etc. This ******* loser was even pretending he had feelings for my mom ( never met her, married, grandchildren), yet he was playing the whole "i have such strong feelings for you"..

I need to talk to my mom, and I don't want anyone else to know about it unless she's actually being unfaithful. I just don't' know how to approach her. I'll start crying if I just bring this up. I was thinking maybe just write her a letter telling her everything, how i feel, etc, and then letting her collect her thoughts and talk to me. Any suggestions?

I can't just go up to her and tell her. It's too much for me to just talk about. I need help really badly, my mind is so scrambled right now.

well things are not so great. I lost my job and both of our cars broke down - lots of stress. My husband is trying to tell me that I don't understand the stress that he is under, so he can't talk to me about it. But he can talk to his 21 year old daughter, because her mother is kicking her out so she is under a lot of stress too, she needs a place to live. That really hurts me that he can't talk to me about things going on in our lives, but for some reason he can talk to a 21 year old who don't live with us?! He has a habit of taking his frustration on me! And I don't like it, I have talked to him about it and he has gotten better, but still has a long ways to go. I feel like he is pushing me away. I even asked him last night if was ok with the choice that he made about marring me and he couldn't say yes, but he couldn't say no either, so to me this means no - he regrets marring me. Should I just leave and let him go, he is so grumpy and these 2 weeks have been horrible.

Ok this is really hard but theres this guy and hes one of my best guy friends and he likes me and i thought i liked him well i mean i do well did ok anyway he went on a trip today and right before he left i gave him a note telling him i liked him but he had or has a g/f and well i told myself to get over him because he had a girlfriend and today when i gave him the note during the day when he was gone i realized i am over him now and now what do i say when i see him at school tommorow??

Okay so, two years ago my Dad quit smoking...and we thought he'd actually quit, because he didn't smell bad or anything and his breath didn't stink anymore. But then a couple weeks ago my sister found cigarettes in his car. My mom confronted him about it and he admitted he had been smoking. My mom and sister didn't tell me until yesterday because I'm really sensitive about the subject(It was because of me he quit in the first place, I suddenly burst into tears, and he told me he'll quit). So anyways my mom and sister told me that he's a grown man and he can make his own decisions, but I still feel really bad. I was always "Daddy's Girl" and now I'm ignoring him and calling him "that man" but I still feel really sad that he's smoking again. He also doesn't admit smoking is bad for you and thinks that it's a bunch of lies and propaganda. How do I try to cheer myself up or try to convince him about smoking? At this point I'm really confused...

I just don't get it ... he buys me expensive jewelry for Christmas and Valentines and my Bday. He tells me he loves me every day and every time we make love. But then he says so many mean and harsh things to me as you see in my previous questions. This is very contradictory to me. I would trade all the jewelry he gave me for a kind word from him. My ex and I broke up about a month ago and cut all communication.. Well, he started calling me again out of the blue and we were talking about getting back together. Then something really big came up in his life, like he may have to move far away, (but it is not for sure yet), Anyway, I talked to him briefly last Friday night and he said he would call me back on Sat., but he didn't call back until yesterday. I didn't answer.. should I call him back? Also, do you think he just wants to be friends now, because after this situation came up in his life he stopped mentioning us getting back together, (but not because of the moving thing, we had a long distance relationship to begin with).. of at my school, i'm not irresonpible, i have a 3.8, i do 4 extra activies, my parents have a need had to ground me, i go to church with out complaing, i don't curse, i do not watch to much tv, i do my chorse, so why is that my parents won't let me get a pet like a parkeet, i willing to pay everthing and i know what i have to do to take care of it, so what's the prouble? I want company, i do not get to hang out with my firends alot because of everyhting i do, i just have time to get out of the house, but i have time to do things in the house, i'm lonely! Why are they saying no?
