I come across to guys as being a confident, independant person.Why are they so afraid of that? I don't know why i come across that way because im nothing like that.

I know, I know, it does sound pathetic.

I'm 37, and will be 38 soon. I've never in my life had a friend, or a girlfriend. All 'love' I've received in my life I had to pay for.

I'm fairly successful, educated (a researcher, with several published papers, including co-authoring two papers in _Nature_), not rich but in a comfortable financial situation, and not bad looking.

I don't understand. I've never managed to get anyone to be anything more than a distant acquaintance, and I've never managed to convince a woman to dance with me.

How do people manage to be loved and/or liked? I see individuals who don't seem particularly bright, or interesting, and not even clean or well-behaved, yet they do have friends and lovers.

Is it the way they act around you? Is it the fact theyre so honest with you or share everything with you. I dont know if we're mates or more then mates sometimes.... He tells me everything from what he does yesterday to what he got up2 today. He asks for my opinion in something.... we talk for ages and stuff we just get along really well. How do you know if youre more then friends or just friends. He's always happy when he sees me anyways help me I just dont know what to do. We've only met just last year and been mates ever since....

do guests that decide to bring a gift usually choose things from the registry, or do they pick out their own gift for the most part? im asking because i'm a week and a half away from my wedding and you know how when its close to time you're supposed to check the registry to make sure there is still enough variety left? (please no speeches because yes i know bringing a gift isn't mandatory, so please no speeches about how i shouldnt think about the gift, thats not the point in my question) well when i checked mine, only the 3 gifts that already came to my house (no i didnt open them) have been purchased. im NOT saying i expect gifts. all i want to know is, do the majority of guest that DO give gifts pick from the registry? or do they pick out their own thing? is wedding gift shopping a very last minute thing for most people? i havent been to many weddings, let alone been married, so im just curious.

We take so normal and spontaneous, we both share our opinions and interests in all topics but when he comes to ask me "What are the qualities you aspire in your dream boy" I really get confused and he notices this!! we admire one another alot, I just can't face him regarding these questions! He always tell me"I like you very much"! Do I seen silly and shy?!

My husband leaves home in the morning before me and kids wake up - so breakfast round the table is out. He also gets home quite late in the evening by which time it is too late for anyone (let alone kids to eat). He also works sometimes weekends. I always think its looks very nice on tv but wonder how many families actually get to sit down and eat together. Its just not practical in a lot of cases.

I also like to dress sexy..the thought that somone can actually see my panties from under my skirt or cleavage being visible is a big turn on for both of us...he likes it when other guys check me out.Feels nice when others start imagining things by cng me dressed sexily but can't come near me. everyone's had bad relationships right? i was in one for 1.5 years, but never really felt loved cos he told me maybe twice that he loved me. i think now that i realise that, my heart is taking more time to heal. he was my partner a year ago, but have still had something for him for over a year now. we have such an amazing physical attraction. i meet other guys, but no-one is ever good enough. i don't compare them to my ex, but i guess i don't have that trust. i'm scared i'm going to get heart-broken again. but i'm also really lonely and feeling really empty.
i'd never share my grief with anyone. i dont share my deep deep feelings often, actually, never.
any words of wisdom?

O.K. Having a few problems at the moment, and dont know really how to start.... have been with my girlfriend for nearly a year,and we were friends for ages before that. It just seems that although I really like her, every conversation we have lately, she just says something that winds me up, or almost says something that she knows I'll argue with....it never used to be like that before. we dont seem to communicate very well in conversations, i ask questions, and she answers with an answer as if I answered a different question. We had problems a few months back, as she went on the pill for us to start having sex, we're both virgins, and it was difficult for me to know what I was doing, hence she got angry at me, when I didnt know what I was doing. All through our relationship, she doesnt start any kind of intimacy, its always me, i always start the kissand she says its cos shes shy. I bought her flowers for v.day, yet didnt get as much as a card. yet when i ask her, she says shes happy!

I am trying to get over this saint of a girl that I fell high over heels and in deep deep love with. The girl is out of my life for good now and lives in town with her boyfriend. It has been one year since I got my heartbroken from unrequited love and I am still heartbroken. This isn't just any average young heart break, this is really severe. I am going through agony amounts of emotional pain, I cry everyday and it's like living with cancer, only it is an emotional cancer. The is absolutely unbearable and I am really hurting so badly. I have tried things A-Z to try and treat this. I have met consultant psychiatrists, therapists and counsellors but that didn't help one bit. I do alot of exercise and mainly go for long walks but that hasn't worked one bit. I have tried different diets and really good medications, but that hasn't worked. I dream alot about my lost love which upsets me. I have become completely sexless, I don't talk much and I have a paralised emotion of emptiness.

it's like impossible for me, even if friends are in the room. it doesnt matter if im sitting or laying down either. ill just be watching and before i know it my eyes get heavy and i fight to keep them open. after awhile i just fall asleep. anyone else have this problem?
