I am the maid of honor for a friends wedding, I am going to throw her a bridal shower, however she thinks playing games is cheesy and doesn't want to play games, I figure the only other thing I can do is feed them, so has anyone ever been to a luncheon bridal shower?how was it and what did you do? Any suggestions, ideas are very much appreciated and welcomed, also she has a guest list of about 60 for just the shower, but i am thinkinhg of seeing if one of the bridesmaids will throw her another one and chop it in half. Thank you!!

Me and my boyfriend (now Fiance) got engaged earlier this week, planning to have wedding later this year/early next of possible and were waiting to see my family at the weekend to announce this in person.

Yesterday, by coincidence, my brother also proposed to his gf and announced it to everyone straight away by telephone and said they are hoping to plan it for late next year.

Now I am going to feel a little silly announcing our engagement and saying we did it earlier in the week, it sounds like I'm saying "we did it first, ner ner", also we wanted ours this year/early next year and theirs would be late next year, and I don't want people to think we are getting ours in first like it's a competition.

I know most people will say, do what you want and don't worry what other people will think but this still feels quite an awkward situation.

But is there a nice way I can announce it without sounding competitive? (Which I am not being, I just don't want to steal their limelight)

I'm pretty skinny and a couple of my guy friends reckon I'm bulimic or something but I could never be that way...I love food and it's not coming back out of my mouth. It just runs in the girls side in our family that we dont put on weight easily. I have a pretty slim figure but a decent as$. Some guys seem to find girls like me who aren't all that curvy unattractive and a turn off. Is this always the case?

I need real help - please tell me someone has had problems like this with sex in their marriage.?
My wife and I have been married for 2.5 years and we still havent had sex yet. We tried on our wedding night but in our nievity didn't know what to do, we were nervous etc. We lost confidence after that, and tried less and less. We used to have oral sex etc. but even that dosne't happen anymore.

We had gone out for many years before, but decided to wait. I wish we handn't now as non-sex is part of our life. It almost feels like we are more friends then husband and wife. We have had a pretty bad married life, lots of arguments, tears etc. We have just started seeing a therapist to help wit the arguments, let alone the sex.

I just don't know what to do. In my heart I think the sex issue is the root cause of everything. We are both very low in confidence, and the fact that we haven't had sex seeks to make us feel worse about ourselves even more.

Has ANYONE been in the same situat

My ex-mother-in-law keeps trying to convince that I will regret not getting back together with my ex-husband. She thinks that I will feel bad because I can not find anyone else and will be alone for the rest of my life after my parents pass away. I currently live near them.

I think that its better to be alone than live with a controlling and abusive man. My ex-husband may be handsome and talk nicely at times, but he still wants his way all of the time.

His mother thinks that he is right in what he says when he gets upset with her or us. I don't agree.

It is lonely being alone and hard to not have the structure of a family to fall back upon. But, I think that its harder to live with a controlling and manipulative man.

What does everyone else think?

ok basically I have been out of work for some months now, and I have been asked in for a interview for saturday the lady cannot re arrange as so understaffed. Im supposed to be going to a wedding my uncles, now I can make it to the church ceremony and then get back for interview and then return for the evening part of it. But they are having a wedding breakfast after the wedding and I am invited for a meal would it bad if I went to the interview obviously I will let the people dealing with the wedding know asap I am not going to be able to make it. i really want a job there and i dont know what to do.

Does she like me?Me and my fren (girl) have been very close. I once told her my feelings. And since then, we've really came to a stage where we were more than friends(but not couples). this girl and I went out a few times, then she told me she just wanted to be friends and a relationship was not what she wanted. We stopped talking for a month, and i would always find her looking at me in the pub. now she started talking to me on msn and started texting me alot! On msn she kept telling me that she is having "men trouble" and that her parents are wondering why she can't get a boyfriend. She also kept telling me about how valentines day is her worst day of the year, because of all the couples. So i said "why is it your most dreaded day? I thought you didnt want a relationship!" She totally ignored this! She also keeps dropping hints to me, like the other day she told me she wanted to go for a walk and basicly told me she wanted me to meet her. I invited her out, but when she realised my mate was going to be there she said it would be "awkward". I then invited her to watch a dvd at my house, but when she discovered a different friend would be there, again she declined.
