Ha, Ha, well a homie is just a slang word for friend. You might of heard people say " what up Homie". Yup, its just a word for a close friend. I don't usually use that word often, I be like, " Hey my home skittle biscuit". Which also mean friend.

A homie is someone who you believe to be like a brother to u (not literally) and they live in the same hood (neighbourhood) as u. Although don't go round sayin it if u ain't black or people wil think you're strange.

Errm...in the 80's it was a reference to a close friend(variant of homeboy). I think the contemporary term for it is "crew". Could also be an affectionate name for "Homer".
