They really don't choose who is mom . If it is 2 guys they both are dad , if it is 2 women they both are mom . Good question , usually when the child grows older they explain the situation . No I'm not gay my sister is and I'm proud to have her as a sister . Also some say the more girly person is the mom and the rough dude like is the dad .

Mom is the one who gets up every morning and prepares the children for their day. Mom is the one who runs all the errands, cooks dinner and cleans the house. I am not saying all families run this way, but traditionally this is how the roles are defined. Mom is the nurturer and "dad" is the breadwinner. Mom is more inclined to interact with the children on a daily basis and Dad spends as much time as he can. Or, defined in today's world....the one with the most money and the loudest voice is the Man of the House.

The kids will no who their mother is. Why dont you ask someone who is in a gay relationship, and get the answer first hand

I think there can either be two fathers or two mothers. But one of the two same-sex couples will tend to lean more on the role of 'boyfriend/guy' in the relationship.
