i know a very dysfunctional family, the parents are abusive towards all the four kids, now all of them are in 30's, 2 of the girls are single moms without jobs, they both divorced abusive husbands, out of the 2 boys, one is alcoholic and another one is suffering from cancer and miserable marriage, do you think its just coincident or its the result of their dysfunctional upbring?

My best friend is depressed. We recently went on holidays and she was in a bad mood the entire time. I came back exshausted and upset. It has been difficult coping with this at the moment as both my grandmothers have recently passed away. Also I am constantly tired and I think I may be anemic. How should I deal with her? any advise would be fantastic!!!!

Please could someone give me some advice?

I have found out my younger sister is addicted to over the counter sleeping pills. She has been staying off work and trying to sleep all day and just takes them non-stop, when I asked her she said that she swallows up to 8 of them a day because it numbs and relaxes her. She is 24 and has been doing this for years on and off.

We both went through some horrendous stuff as kids. I won't go into that here, but I think that has a lot to do with it and that the pills may be one of her coping strategies.

What can I do?

I have a boyfriend who asked me to move with him to Paris and he wanted to introduce me to his family and friends. We have not been living together before. He said he wanted to start a family but just need to wait few years and see how it goes between us and need to work really hard for next few years before he can proceed further. He doesnt like me to have any contact with other guys or my exs. And he has no contact with any girls either. Sometimes he has doubt when I told him that Im out with friends. He worried that I might look at other guys and might like them. Though I kept telling him I only want him, he still have doubt. He realized that its not healthy for the relationship and said he would work on that one. I could go on with this and on.. Well, so far what do you think? Is he for real?

I started seeing my ex in 2003 and we broke up in 2005, while we we're together i became very close to his family, especially his mum and i know it devastated her when we broke up, as i was told by a mutual friend that she kept up pictures of myself and my ex and actually started calling my ex's new girlfriend by my name. But since our break up i have been engaged to someone else but that has ended and my ex himself is now engaged. I recently saw a mutual friend of ours and it brought back alot of memories so now i feel like i would like to go and see my ex's parents, but im terrified its a really bad idea? Also i dont want to cause any riffs for my ex and his new girl. (Also i have no interest romantically in my ex, although i do care about his happiness.) Its difficult for me as my ex's family became like a second family to me for the two years we were together. So obviously i miss them. Can anyone help me?

Girls and guys would you feel a bit hurt if you were in a relationship of 5 years pushing 6 and your relationship was going good, living together ect.. but your boyfriend hasn't proposed or isn't planning to anytime soon. We have talked about it because I brought up the fact that I wanted to have children and he said he wanted to be married to the person first, thats fine but that was two years ago. We fight about it all the time to the point of it being uncomfortable. Everytime a commercial comes on the t.v that is about baby stuff or something similar he always either starts talking about anything or gets up, or reaches for his drink just so were not left staring at the t.v watching this ad.
It really annoys me and I've told him that i've noticed this pattern but he acts as if though he doesn't know what I'm talking about.
Basicaly he has said he wants marraige and the children, he has always said this but, helloooo it's 5 going on 6 years, I'm over it!
Whats your opinion?

Oh and I don't hassel him about this at all, 6 months can go by with out a mention, but I always bring it up around 6 months because I'm sick of nothing happening, I don't want to waste my time with this person if he keeps jerking me on!

The point is I want to have a child, but he says he wants marraige first, well if he wants marriage first he can ask me. Because other wise it seems to me he's putting of the proposing cause he doesn't want kids!

I knew my ex gf for 3 years and dated her for a year and a half. We were great together and knew what we wanted in life. I confessed my love for her 6 months into our relationship. I mean I was totally in love with this girl. She is still amazing to me, even now we have broken up for a month. The thing is, she had a ex bf of 5 years. She was still in love with him while I confessed that I loved her. The thing was that she went back to him about half way through our relationship and I was hurt. My girlfriend and I had a fight the other day and it’s coz I messed up. She found a note from a girl I was flirting with at work. It meant nothing to me. I just flirted with this girl and had no intentions to cheat on her. Not even one bit. But, my girl doesn’t think so. She’s really upset with me and won’t take my calls and when I went to see her, she wouldn’t let me in. I miss her a lot and I am really sorry for what I did. I’ve left messages on her answering machine that have gone unanswered. I have been planning a special dinner for us on Valentines day, that being the day I planned an asking her to marry me. I know I shouldn’t have flirted with this girl and I don’t know how that note found itself in my stuff. I know I was wrong. How can I at least make her talk to me and hear me out? I love her and want her to be my wife, but I don’t know if she’ll take me back. Can someone help me out? I just need to talk to her.

Really would appreciate some advice - My boyf has plans to move nearer to me which in his eyes is great - we can spend more time together all week plus he has been considering moving nearer london for time anyway. I hoped the move would be positive too but he has now said his lodger will come with him. She is an old lady & no threat to me, but I just was looking forward to this move meaning more time for 'us' as I cant relax with her being around all the time & it will be worse in a smaller house especially as she will be home a lot. The next prob is that the house he is moving too has a lot of strange behaviour. Several people have rented it from him (he has owned it 4 a while) & have reported it seems to be haunted. Whether you beleive in that or not I had nightmares after I'd visited it before & called out in my sleep I was so disturbed by it, so I cant even tollerate the thought of visiting it again let alone staying there with him. He seems to have forgotton this. What do I say?

My friend is married to a Gambian who is secretly texting and has joined a dating agency. I am NOT a rasist!!!!!! and neither do I understand the Gambian culture but I do know my friend, she is loving and very caring. She has been married for only a few months and she is currently going through bankcruptcy. Her husband works but sends all his money back home to build on a compound for his parents or something to that effect and even her Ex partner is giving her money in front of her husband to buy gas and electric for her and her daughter.
She constantly asks me and my wife what she should do and asks us to check his email to see if her suspicions can be founded. She said that she is going to throw him out but never does, I have got to a point where I have told her that I am here for her and always will be but I don't want to know anymore about her marriage problems as she is not prepared to do anything about it herself, this was a very hard thing for me to say!!!!.
