Family & Relationships - 6 February 2007

He is almost 50. Just moved out of gf's house to stay with friends. Has been separated from family for 10 years. Spent a lot of it off and on in jail serving time for a prior narcotics conviction. Was addicted to crack cocaine when we kicked him out and uses again off and on when not in jail. He lives with friends when not staying with his painkiller addicted trailerpark wife. He has been arrested for assault twice with her so I wish he wouldn't live with her but I don't trust his friends not to bring crack around him. I wish I could take him in with me but it's not an option. He needs a place to live that is affordable to him and keeps him out of trouble. Any ideas?

We've finally talked about getting engaged and marriage after almost 5 years. I was very excited, i do want to get marry. At the same time I'm very indecisive of the path I'm taking with him. I fear the marriage isn't going to be a pretty picture . I even think the issues and problem we might have (we both have a kid from previous relationship). Perhaps some fears coming from observing my parents' marriage, i've been staying with my parents last two years. Sometimes they would say things like that they don't see my marriage will last with him etc.... it hurts my feeling and makes me doubting my relationship. I've broken up/fought with him 2 or 3 times already since he talked about marry me. I don't know what's wrong with me, sometimes I'm so angry at him for nothing. Then I would call quit, saying we're not compatible etc. I just did it again. He revealed he already bought the ring and now will return it. I love him and picture myself be with him everyday.

For the past 5 years I have had what I thought was a close, good friendship with a girl down my road. We both have children of the same age etc. Now whilst she was and still is happily married I was single so it was to my house she would come to sit, chat have a glass of wine etc.
Last year I had the good luck to have a wirlwind romance and got married. We have moved house - but only a few houses down the road - in fact closer to my friend.
My door has remained open to her.
Unfortunately she makes it clear she is not fond of my husband, her husband came across for a drink with mine whilst I was out and simply took a bottle of wine without asking, returning it the next morning saying oh K**sten doesn't like white, is quite demanding and is constantly telling me I have changed etc.
I am getting increasingly fed up with it. I have not said anything back merely let her say whatever she wants etc. But I no longer feel comfortable with her and so thought clearing the air would help?

Man, I guess I ask this because it just blows my mind how people can be so rude. Lady ignores me but speaks when spoken to. She can be downright pleasant but next time I wont give me the time of day. I even hold the door for her and she wont thank me. All I can think is that shes one arrogant person. I feel sorry for the man in her 40 year old +/- life. Why are people so freaking rude? It isnt cute and men dont like it and Ive started giving her the same treatment. Trouble is her family is ok so I feel kinda guilty. Does anyone think maybe shes doing it for the attention? I am in a relationship that I feel is a mistake. He doesn't treat me right and I dont feel the love. I am starting to feel that I should have just stayed with my ex. He treated me good of course we had our ups and downs but I just lost the love I had for him aswell and didnt want to lead him on. Now I dont know what i am doing and starting to think that it is me. After allthis experience I had having my heart broken i just dont feel like I could ever love again. I dont think there is someone out there for me and I am fine about it. I would much rather be alone and happy then in a relationship and miserable for the rest of my life. How about you???

My wife has lost her mind, i quit work to go back to college and she continued to work and pay our bills, this happened about 3 years ago. Now I find out she took out loans and got a credit card to try to keep the bills caught up and didn't tell me. Now I find all this out and the only explination she can give me is "I thought it would help me keep the bills paid on time". I'm so mad I'm thinking about leaving her. Has this ever happened to you? If she lied about this, she probably lied about other things right?

My husband wanted to take a nursing job in California. He did 10 months ago. (We live in La.) I did not have my heart 100% behind this decision. But, I finally agreed. Now, he's in school in California also for his RN. He tells me when he graduates (1 1/2 years) that he still wants to work in California. He doesn't come home now but every 3 months in between semesters. MY POINT IS: He has made these life decisions, which will result in what he's wanted for the past few years. I SAID TO HIM, that once he graduates. He has to move back home and a 7/7 schedule is not acceptable to me. He wants to work in California and fly back every other week. I am not in agreement w/this plan. HERE WAS HIS REPSONSE TO ME: You say that my days are over of 7-n-7, and you will say where we live. I don't live in absolutes. I'm not answering that question.

I was going to get my boyfriend a betta fish for Vday in a lil bowl and I was going to decorate it and write a lil note...but anyways I don't think that's a good idea anymore cuz he'll have to take care of it and it'll probably die lol so what can I get him??? he doesn't like chocolate (prefers vanilla) and a teddy bear is just......idk but i don't wanna get him that lol. i was thinking about a card but that just seems too blahish. me and my boyfriend have been together for 8 months. we got in a huge fight on friday and broke up but got back together the next day. there is this girl he works with and hes always on the phone with her. last night he told me he had to get up extra early to drive her to school cuz she doesnt have a car and i told him its not my problem and he said "well its not your problem but its mine" and i asked why and he said its cuz shes a really close friend. and he keeps comming up with reasons why we shouldnt be together. friends of mine have seen him with her at target and once at the mall, we saw her and she yelled "JOSHIE!!!" all excited to see him. i think they like each other but i dont know. does he like her????
