Consider a church near your home if your parents do not attend church. Just go to the regular church service (just walk in the door) and see how they respond to you. After church talk to the pastor. If they want to teach you their religion go elsewhere. If they help you meet people your own age and have activities for your age (and if you are under 21 the activities are attended by parents of the other children) and the activities are generally held at the church this will probably be a good place. A good church will not emphasize doctrine or even Bible study although after you are part of the church they might offer these activities if you want to study doctrin or Bible.

I AM FEELING YOU!!! I have been going through the same exact thing and I have been thinking of ways that I can meet new friends. I thought of taking a class, venturing out by myself to doing something different then what I have been doing in the past, such museum, coffee shops, etc. And just overall doing things that were different from what we did in the past. My problem was that all of my friends started to stay at home and everyone would congregate at one person house and drink and argue all night and I got tired of that...

Unfortunately, this is a life long quest. It is a fact of life; no one is in a good mood all the time nor do they always tell the truth. Myself included. My friends aren't perfect but neither am I. The important thing is do they have your back and is it a reciprocal relationship. Do they listen as much as they complain. Do they hug you if you start to cry. Love conquers all in the friendship game.

Back up the Boat! If they are Lying? Then they're not your Friends. They're users . And you deserve better. Bring it back to The Heart, Missy. There's happiness in the sound of those beats. Listen and learn.

Look at the type of person they are before you "let them in." I was betrayed badly by someone who I trusted...since then, I've made some really good friends by looking at their character first before trusting them too much.
And that takes time...no one can be a good friend to you in a short amount of time.

I have to say I am in the same boat. I'm wondering what that says about me as aperson that people think I'm so dumb as to believe the garbage they tell me. Not one of them can tell the truth to save their own lives.
