I watched a show one day. It was about teens addicted to sex, most of whom have become parents. The age group was from 13-18. Scary, right? Some of them weren’t even old enough to drive yet, and they have a child. A girl said “Before the show, we all were talking. We found out that we all have one thing in common….our parents didn’t give us the talk, and when they did, they just skimmed the service about it. Our experiences with parenthood at a young age taught us everything we need to know”. Why are some parents afraid to talk about sex? I don’t know. You see it on music videos, movies and it’s almost in all of our music. I was ridiculed for teaching my 20 year old son about sex at 9 years of age. My Mother, rest her soul said “He don’t need to know about that now. You shouldn’t teach him that”. I said “I’m gonna teach him before the streets teach him”. So, I would like the most honest answer that you can give me on this question. Should parents talk about sex more than they do now, if they do it at all, with their children? If so, what’s the right age?
