Well, for starters, making the choice to start a family. Not all couples choose to, so there are plenty of discussions to be had over the matter, (not to mention going over the finances).... Owning a home together is another one. Once again, not all couples do that either. For the most part, a marriage is an ongoing commitment. Each day you work towards that relationship you're striving for. You grow old together. You just be there for each other for the rest of one anothers lives.
