My daughter is just turned 1. Me and her father are not together but we are close. He is from VA and he is moving back down there. His mother wants me to come down there and get a place with his sister. Im not really doing nothing where Im from but my family is here. I dont know what to do. I feel if I go it may be a little too close for comfort. What if we end up getting back together which we both dont want atleast right now. Or what if he finds a girlfriend and its thrown in my face? Ill be on his turf now and its not that easy to just up and move. Please help

This is a tough one. I was kinda thinking the same that you will be on his turf if you move. I guess it all depends on how trusting you are with not only the ex but the mother and sister. I kinda look at this as a perfect setup to obtain custody of your daughter. Lets say you move and 3 months into it, you have a huge argument with the ex. Then the sister decides its not a good idea that you live with her anymore. And we all know how mothers can be so I will leave that one alone. You maybe thinking you can just move back home, but he may have the right to prevent you from taking your daughter out of state. Next thing you know you are homeless and more important you don't have custody of your child. I don't know what the state laws are there in VA, but that is how I would look at it. And to say you have nothing going on where you live now worries me. You have your daughter and that is what you have going on. You should be trying to go to college (if your not that is) or get a good job to better raise your child. Just think about this. Your daughter is most likely going to live the same life that you have lived. So it would benifit your daughter for you to do everything career wise so that she can grow to be an independent person and take care of herself and you when you get older. Live life for the child. What are his reasons for moving back to VA?

Stay where you are,if you were meant to be together sometime down the line then it will happen.Dont wait on him and dont move in with his family.Thats the worse thing you can do because when it comes down to it blood is thicker than water and you dont need that aggravation.

Stay where you are. Being a single parent is very difficult and you need to be where you can have access to friendly family help if you need it. If you go, you will be giving up your freedoms and the possibility of being controlled by otheres will be great.

Stay put and close to your family, which I hope is your support system, or at least part of your support system.
