and strt a good friendship with him. like any suggestions of ice breakers?
we r all in teh same class. both of them r smart. and taht guy is nice to everyone

If you are friends with the guy try and fish around to see what girls he is interested in, hopefully your friend is on the list. If she is, then try to set up some friendly get togethers, a group outing, or study group or a bank robbery whatever kids in your area do for fun.
If he likes her then you can hint that she may like him too, but never come right out and say it.
I would NOT tell him she likes him because if he does not like her all you did was embarrass your friend.

Bring both of them out with you on a casual outing, eg. ice skating, to the amusement park, watching a sport that you three like etc. Introduce them, having fun usually breaks out the ice.
If you think they've warmed up enough, make up some excuse to leave...say you have something on and hope they enjoy themselves! Your friend should know what to do. :)

Why don't all three of you go to the movies then you can pretend that you have to leave out of the blue and leave them together.
