No, you're not bad. Telling the truth is never wrong. He might as well find out now rather than a few years down the line when he'll feel betrayed and will inevitably have to undergo rigorous and intensive psychiatric assessments for a delusional state whereby he thinks he actually is Santa Claus

At 14 he obviously knows that there is no fairyland Santa, but it's fun to "play the game". He also knows that one can't fly on broomsticks, but it's still fun reading Potter. So you've nothing to worry about. Incidentally (since you've mentioned Harry Potter)risking walking through the wall onto platform nine-&-threequarters to reach Hogwort could be likened to making that bold decision to ask Christ into one's life - that also has far-reaching and amazing consequences.

14 is way too old to be believing that there is no Santa. there would be no point in retracting your statement because it is done. even if he tells his parents, go ahead and say that you thought that kids his age already know that it is a myth.
don't let a **** try to intimidate you. sounds like you are an adult, make sure that he knows that you can't be blackmailed by him. you tell his parents before he does.

You are so miguided, I am 51 years old and I know that Santa exists, if not who eats the mince pies I leave out each Christmas Eve ? You sound such an unhappy, angry person and if I were you I'd chill out a little and try enjoying life and all the fantasies that go with it.

I wouldnt retract as such. I would just say to him...the reason I said that was because I dont believe in him but many people do. Just say that you dont think he is real but that is just what you believe..just like he believes he is real.
This way you can retain your job!hopefully!
Tbh, he sounds like his parents are hiding plenty of things from him not just santa and he will get a punch to the stomch if he says things like that in school! He will get bullied and although you did him a favour, it was not your place to say. I did that to my nephew who was 12, and his parents didnt thank me at all!! Id have been better keeping my mouth shut!

God U are cruel, I bet you watch the Santa Movies at Christmas don't you, he lives in Lapland, don't you keep a secret wish under your pillow, why shouldn't he.
Why can't he dream of a Farther Christmas bet you dream of being a millionaire or having a comfortable life, whats the difference.

the boy obviously has special needs, and it was a little mean, I dont know what harry potter has to do with christmas, christmas is about - CHRIST - which is why it is called CHRIST_MAS, so its about Jesus. You and this lad have an odd relationship to say the least, and to be honest I wouldnt want you near any child of mine - youre dangerous, in my opinion

You are a self-centered prick!! Kids aren't runts-I think the parents should keep him away from you. Maybe he is a little old to believe in Santa, but why is it your place to tell him. Hopefully he'll tell his parents what you said and they'll decide to find a new advisor.

Hey...you did the right thing, is this kid lonely? or in denial, why do parents insist on lying to their children about the none existent Santa, If I am buying the presents I rather take the credit.
