My family thinks I'm going to marry my partner next year.. and I have tried to tell him that we're over.. but he hasn't taken me seriously b/c we've been together for six years. I will have a face-to-face talk with him when he comes to town for my sister's wedding.
To complicate things, I have a new boyfriend now.. but I haven't told my family that I've broken up with my ex-BF, so that's why I can't bring my new BF into the picture.
I don't want my boyfriend to be sad about this, but I don't know what I can do b/c I'm caught in the middle. I don't want to hurt my ex-BF either. :(

Today i overheard some girls gossiping, because i heard one of them say my name in a hushed tone, which is never good, then i heard them mention two of my friend's names. i'm not sure what they said about my friends, but i know that they were talking about me. Should i tell my friends that they were mentioning their names today, i honestly think i should just shut up about this and keep it to myself because i don't even know if they were bashing my friends or not.

Over the summer i asked this girl out a week before i asked this other girl out. The first one i asked didn't get back at me until about a week. So then i had asked the second one out because i figured the first girl wasn't gonna answer. Turns out the first girl said yes after i asked the second one out. Then i told the second girl... never mind i just got back together with my girl friend. I said that so it didn't seem like i was playing her. I never went out with the fist girl and im actually talking with the second one. I was gonna go out with the second girl but now she says she doesn't want any drama from my girl friend if we go out. Then i told her i lied and i never had one, i just said it so i would have two girls say yes at the same time. She goes to the same school as me but we have never really met and now she's doesn't really trust me anymore. We had plans to go out but she canceled once i told her what really happend. Today, at the very last possible second, my homecoming date informed me he's not going. HE asked ME, and he knew for about a week he probably wasn't going to go, but promised me he would. I gave him many chances to bow out, chances he never took advantage of, so now I'm what I believe to be justifiably pissed. Every boy I've talked to has said I shouldn't be upset, but most girls are appalled. Am I right to be angry with him for ditching me, or should I forgive him?

If my girlfriend and I are allowed to be with one other person each, so we each essentially each have two lovers, each other plus one other, then can this really be considered cheating? I am 35 years old. My parents and immediate family think I should still do everything they tell me to do. They think they know best for my life. They get really upset when I go against their opinions. But they think I am nothing but a complete failure and have done nothing but "screwed" up my life. They think I have done nothing but made one mistake after another. Granted, I will admit I have made some stupid mistakes and I have not made the best decisions my entire life but I am trying to do much better. I can back this up and prove it. They do not give me credit for anything and see nothing positive in my life. All they see and tell me is the negative and mistakes. How do you handle family members like this? What do you say when they are upset cause you don't follow their "orders?" Please Help! I am sick and tired of this. It has been this way my entire life!! Keep in mind, my 32 year old sister is nothing but "perfect" and the best, a shining example in their eyes.

Ok, so last night I got really drunk and I slept with this friend of mine I had not seen since high school. That was the second guy I ever slept with in my LIFE.
Now, I am embarrased cause I met his dad while laying there in his bed (and apparently I gave him a huge hickey too), slept with him when his friend (whom I had just met btw) was in the other room and I am pretty sure the whole house heard us!!
Should I feel bad?? I dont know if that matters to the guys but I don't want to be 'downgraded' in my character just because of a little slip like this one. I don't regret it, I just regret the timing of the whole thing. Im a seriously good girl and I have no idea how I let this happen... PLEASE HELP!!!

My daughter is getting married in December of 2006. She announced the wedding 12/05 Her fiancees parents told my daughter they were going to pay for everything. When she asked them again in June they still confirmed that they were going to pay for everything.
Now my daughter asks about wedding invitations and reception information and the mother of the groom says that unfortunately they can not pay for anything because they have to remodel their kitchen for Thanksgiving. (The only reason they are remodeling their kitchen is because their older son's in-laws are coming over for Thanksgiving Dinner and they are financially secure, a.k.a. "well-off)
So, I have not saved any money for the wedding, since I thought they would pay for it and a lot of holidays are around the corner.
So, should I, the bride's mother (single parent, single income) pay for a wedding that is a couple of months away or should the groom "Man-up" and tell his parent's to help pay?
