why is it that women can give eachother hugs, kiss on the cheek, ask eachother about thier oppinion on styles, and tell eachother if they look good or not but men would be considered GAY if they ever thought about those kinds of things??? also, the anorexia rates of teen boys are going up, why?

Why? because you live and the United States of America, that's why. The Americans don't do that. Only us, we think it's weird. You go elsewhere in the world, you see guys hugging eachother all the times, that doesnt' mean they're gay, they think that it's normal and more friendly that way, we dont' think like that, we're drifting further way. :) By the way, i'm not gay. Thanks

Haven't you ever seen a "man hug" on TV? Talk show hosts do this when they're greeting their guests.

How do to a "man hug": The two men shake hands with their right hands, then lean forward with their right cheeks together and pat each other on the back/shoulder with their left hands.

Two pats is the basic standard for a "man hug," it signifies cordiality and respect. Three pats signifies that the other person has saved your life at some point. I've never seen four pats, but I suspect it means "I don't know how to quit you..."

It's just what girls do. Honestly, I don't find it "gay" if a guy hugs another guy. I don't even think it's odd/"gay" for a group of guys to stay the night together. Girls have "sleep overs" to talk about guys, do makeup/nails, etc... Guys might have "over nighters" to talk about girls, drink (if they're into that), or watch sports.

It's not that we'd be gay if we did it. We just show our affection in different ways. Sock in the arm, derrogatory comment, you know guy stuff. stuff thats filled with testosterone. The same reason we don't hug each other is the same reason you don't see girls doing backflips on quads. Were just different. and I have to say I like it like that. And no I'm not sexist, I didn't say that a girl couldn't do a backflip on a quad.

I dont' think guys hugging each other are gay. They are just really good friends. No reason to generalize and jump to erroneous conclusions. Girls don't have these weird hangups about showing affection. What's anorexia got to do with it?

it's just a matter of social convention. Sure men can be concerned of they look or hug each other without being gay, but people have an established way of thinking that doing such things is being gay...

Men hug each other all the time. In families it is not unusual for men to kiss each other hello or good-by. Look at football players patting each other on the butt.

I understand where you're coming from but women are feminine and men want to hold on to a certain masculinity. I mean, that's just the way God made men and women to be different from each other for a purpose. Men are supposed to appear strong and not as feminine as a woman.
