My ex left me and has basically asked for space and time to find herself. She became bored of the relationship i guess and has little left to offer. However, she still messages me to see how i am, wnats to be friends with me and generally at least makes me feel she still cares. Thats not saying she wants to get back with me but there is a caring love still there. The problem is i want her back bad. Do you guys reckon that ignoring her a bit and showing her i am moving on with my life and in a sense not looking back it may help her realise i am a great guy for her or do you think she will kind of be happy im out of her life?

I have been with my girlfriend about 3 months she really is amazing, about my age but mentaly much more mature we can talk about anything and everything and have alot of fun togther just spontaniously flying somewhere for no other reason than it was cheap and no idea where we are going =P But from the letters she writes me I think she is really falling for me, I'm quite flattered as her ex was a rich London architect and as a 17 year old school boy I didnt think I could compete, I've seen the letters she wrote to him and there is not nearly as much feeling as she's showing me. Don't get me wrong I care for her alot and I want to stay with her but she obviously likes me more than I like her, and when she says these things I simpy can't return the sentiments without being dishonest, which I could never do with her, and I just feel a developing awkwardness as a result. What can I do?

Just wondering whether people think even reasonably non-materialistic girls are impressed if a guy has a nice car? Do you think it has an effect at a concious or sub-concious level?

While I have been in past relationships before, this was the one that felt real. I had never loved someone before my boyfriend and he was the only one I could actually imagine a future with. Now that it is over and I realize the kind of guy he is, I'm scared that he never actually loved me. Even though I knew it wasn't working, I still loved him and would never have treated him the way that he has treated me. Now I'm scared to ever trust anyone again. Everyone keeps telling me its just him but .... I'm never want to feel the way I am feeling now again. I feel like my life is completely different now and what I thought I knew was completely wrong. I know that you are supposed to "love like you have never been hurt" but this heart is taking over my life.

This became a problem immediately upon committing to marry her more than 15 years ago. It was as if she was saying, "OK. I got what I wanted now I control everything. Let me make him suffer for all the past failed relationships." I am misreable, and the only reason for staying in the marrigage is our two young boys. Yes, we actually managed to have children despite having sex less than once per month for all of these years. Now it seems that we are down to months that begin with the letter A - April, August. My wife and mother in law have been fiercely competitive over the years and, at times, disrespectful of each other and those around them.

My wife recently learned that she will NOT be a beneficiary of her mother's estate and that 100% will go to her younger brother. . .who did not help his mother years ago when she was going through her own problems (divorce, relocation, career change) but my wife and I were there to help her every step!

Ignoring her. . .pretending not to have a mother. . .is not realistic as there are grandchildren involved. . .and it does NOT seem right to compound mistakes with another!

I know both women well and while, by design, I side with my wife I can be criticial and objective about her as well. . .nothing she has done or said to date justifies such a cruel and mean spirited action as for a mother to intentionally punish her eldest child/daughter "beyond the grave"!

Have you gone through a similar challenge - How to resolve?

What do you do to help you through a tough breakup? My boyfriend and I recently broke up, it was somewhat mutual, he definately wanted it more then I but I'm having a really hard time with it. Any advice?? (I've been in long term relationships before, we have only been dating about 4.5 months)
