and are you still friends after the marriage ended?

Twice, but the first time didnt count to me because i had just had a major concussion and don't even remember saying yes, let alone the wedding the first time around.

I have a really nice husband now.

However, on a funny note, there has been so much divorce and remarriage in my family, we have an inside joke called:
"The **** family marathon"
to see who holds the family record for most marriages in a lifetime. (**** is the family name omitted =)

No i am certainly not friends or even associated with my ex, and i sincerely hope to never see him ever again.

Married 23 years and still counting. I see no reason to ever marry again if this one does not work out? It's 2006 and society has finally changed a bit, unless your totally religious, or income tax reasons there is no reason to get married. You can have a relationship where you both commit to each other, and live together as a couple. You can pledge your never ending love to one another with out being married and the whole name change thing! And if me and my husband ever do get divorced, hell no we won't be friends, because he will have to do something really really stupid to make me divorce him . Then why would we be friends? He is my best friend right now!

We got it right the first time, have been married for 34 years and yes, we are still married and still friends. LOL.

I find it very hard to understand when people get divorced and are still friends. It seems kind of immoral or even ridiculous: if you like somebody enough to be their friend, then why wouldn't you try harder to make the marriage work?

In my job in health insurance claims, I talk to lots of people about the problems they have with family business after getting divorced, especially when they have children. Most of them are NOT friends after they get divorced. It seems easier, and much nicer, to me-- to just stay married and work things out. To each his own.

Um. I've only been married once. Still married.

Been together for 9 years married for 5. I most certainly hope we never divorce, but if we did, I'm sure that we would still be friends. My hubby is a great guy! We have kids too, so if it did turn sour, we would have to at least be civil for the kids' sake.

I didn't get married till I was 30 because I have seen to many of my friends get a divorce. But I should have waited till I was dead to get married. Marriage is much like work :)

Been married 4 times currently 12 years

Have not been able to be friends due to the fact they left me and wanted to come back after they found the grass was not greener. I of course would not and this seemed to cause conflict.

I have been married once and still am married to my wonderful husband. If anything does happen between us to make us get a divorce, I'm sure we will still be friends though.
