"Spare the rod, spoil the child", is is favorite verse from the bible. He doesn not believe in time out, or punishments. I just got married five months ago, and my husband is having a hard time relating to my son. My husband also came into the marriage with his five yr old son. I notice that my husband beats my four yr old son for things that HIS son has done and didn't get anything other than a warning about. My son tries to have conversations with my husband,and my husband acts disinterested, and aloof. Yesterday, my son went to hug his stepdad when he got home from work, and my husband acted as though he didn't see him, and as my son turned away I snapped. I asked him how could he not see my son trying to give him a hug? He just shugged his shoulders. All he says to him is to "stop being a "mothers boy". I feel as though I hate him when he whips my son for stupid stuff like wasting juice on the rug. My son gets the worst spankings out of all the FIVE kids, I hate it! Please help?

The other day, I stumbled upon my cousin's myspace profile and lo and behold, I found a good amount of evidence to prove that she may be gay. We've been close to eachother since we were little and I never saw this coming. Well, ever since I discovered this, I haven't been talking to her because it feels really awkward. I don't have a problem with gay people, but I can't help feeling really uncomfortable around her. What should I do?

finally after 2 months my GF is able to say she still wants to work on the relationship...

but what do we do first. she is still VERY uncomfortable in bed with me and we do not kiss passiontaly or have SEX...i dont want to rush her or pressure her, but i think that a proactive approach to mending will be the best. Any suggestions on where to start or what to do to make her comfortable again or show affection like she used to?

My mother will not stop smoking even though she almost died from lung cancer and went through hell after having two-thirds of her lung removed. She has recently started smoking again and I hate it. I stay ill all the time with allergies as does my son. Is the only thing I can do move out?

My husband has a 10 yr old son that HATES my daughter. His ex and his son moved right next door to us and I'm so upset about it. Everytime we do something now he feels obligated to take his son but I don't like it bc his son is mean to my daughter. My husband says it's just how brother's and sisters fight but I don't see it that way. He tries to get her in trouble and usually succeeds. If I go do something fun with my daughter my husband usually tells me to take his son too so he won't feel left out.I stpped going to fun places bc i hate taking him. He's rude to me and a smart alec. My husband doesn't see my frustration. I've tried to be polite and treat him well but it's gotten worse since they moved next door. Now he sees our family everyday and i think it hurts him that his dad is here with us and I understand that...but does that mean I have to allow him to treat MY baby bad?

He has gone back to her and come back to me 15 times. Does anyone think this will be the last time and that I will be free to live my life? my cousin alicia's bf of 9months have moved in with us but they have had a row lately when she found out that her bf had phoned his ex(of 6years) to see how she's doing(esp coz she's got cancer). they'd broken up a good 4years now. alicia & her bf have rules about contacts with exes and he says this is different, that he doesn't love her no more but wants to be sure she's fine. she's just upset about finding out that now they're on a 'silent treatment' mode. don't want to get caught in between their fight. but what is the rule with exes? my cousin says she felt she overreacted but made her bf promise to let her know when he phones his ex again.
