We are getting married in the fall - what wedding present ideas do you have? I have a $2000 budget.

Jewelry is good, especially something you could have sent to her on the morning of so she can wear it that day. Nice diamond earrings would be great. Or you could give it to her at the rehearsal dinner and then send her something sweet on the wedding morning like a wind up music box or snow globe that plays a special song.

You are the ideal groom! How thoughtful!

My husband gave me a lovely dress during our honeymoon, but it wasn't an ideal "wedding" gift because it will eventually wear out or be grown out of (god forbid), so permanence is definitely the way to go. I would put in another vote for jewellery, because that's the easiest thing (believe it or not) to buy. However, my husband already purchased jewellery for me and I simply don't wear all of it, so he couldn't get me that.

I've heard of getting brides a spa package and makeup and hair style (no, not permanent, but wait for it) and then purchasing a photo session with a really good photographer, independent of the wedding. She'll be immortalized in time, and have something to show the grandkids (you see, Grandma was pretty smoking back then!)

A painting or piece of sculpture would also work really well, but only if you know what she likes. Same goes for furniture, but beware that you don't stray into a domestic gift.

Good luck with it all!

Most grooms buy their bride a piece of jewelry that she can wear on the wedding day, like earrings, a necklace, or a bracelet.

I'll assume you work full-time. Take $2000 worth of time off and do work around the house that you've been 'meaning to' or something, or just spend time with her. A small but meaningful gift would be nice as well so she has something to remember. Lately, though, time is the most precious commodity.

Get her a charm bracelet - and fill it with charms that have meaning to your relationship - ie if your first date was to a french restaurant - get an eiffel tower , if you met online - get her a computer charm - If you proposed on a beach - get a palm tree charm -
There is nothing better than knowing your man thinks of times that are special to her as well - by finding a charm to symbolize these - you have not only given her something to treasure that represents you - you have given her a gift that takes thought and love. I promise she will LOVE it

there's a cartier love bracelet that you lock on her and you keep the key except it looks like a flat head and not a key very cute or how bout a necklace from tiffany's engraved with her new initials! Or a locket with her new initials. I'm a bride-to-be myself and those are a couple of things i would love!!!

It depends what you want to say with the gift. Do you want it to be special and meaningful? Then I agree with the jewelry. I've heard of other people getting cameras, camcorders, etc things like that to keep the memories. My husband and I got each other spa treatments on the honeymoon and that was perfect for us.

Jewerly is the normal gift- like a diamond necklace or such.
Ask her mom or a friend for ideas about what will go with her dress and make sure it's every wearable.
