For me, it's the little plastic cups Luigi's Italian Ices come in. I use them for all sorts of things, taking my lunch, as drinking glasses, scoops of soy delicious, as food dishes for my rabbit, cleaning paint brushes. They're great little all-purpose containers.

My pool has been invaded by hundreds of baby frogs. I skim them out only for them to return. Has anyone ever had this problem, and how do I get rid of them? I've tried to be nice, but know it's time for them to leave (no matter what I have to do!).

My husband does not recycle and it really bugs me out. How can I get him to become a tree hugger like me...from a male "Texican" ( TEXAN) point of view"? We have lived in New England for the last four year and everyone re-cycles. He is just a high-class "Hill-Billy" that doesn't care about politics, muchless the environment!!! Help me help the world!

Pesky rabbits have eaten all the veg in my veg patch. Should I support globalisation, profiteering and the demise of our retail heritage by sparing the rabbits and buying my veg from Tesco - or just shoot the rabbits?

I want to build an enviromentally friendly house, and was wondering about average prices. I'm looking for 3-4 bedrooms, 2+ baths, and a fair size place. I'm not sure yet what all I will include, I'm still begining my research. What have you done that does work, that doesnt, and how much did it cost? I dont have alot of money, but I live in a place that could really use some green influence. I am even considering proposing an undeveloped area be zoned as a 'green' house subdivision before someone snatches it up for yet another shopping center. Thanks in advance!

We have recently had to take our recycling rather than it be picked up. The bin we take it to is commingled recyclables- which means that it all goes in together. It made me wonder, is there someone that recycles all of this by dividing out the glass, paper, etc. or does it all just go to the landfill with the regular trash anyway?

maybe guarantee a possible chance we might be head off a human induced trend of global warming? (mind you there are over 2 BILLION people that do not have electricity, and solar and wind generated power technology will NEVER be substantial enough to provide the "necessities" the west enjoys, ie. refrigerator, stove, lights... meaning clean water, lights to study by, refrigerators to keep medicine & food at temperature, dental drills, ... isn't it better allow low cost energy development and save humans lives now?

I was thinking of buying some energy saver light bulbs but I realized they are about 8 times more expensive than normal ones. Does the energy they safe justify the price? I will only use them for a few hours a day.

like, say a windmill generates electricity, and you use 1% of that energy to power a box fan to put in front of the windmill. if electricity is generated with motion, it seems it would be a very simple matter to make a device that generates its own power, but generates a surplus of power, in which the leftover power is used by cities etc. why isn't this principle considered a practical solution?

I just went into contract on a farmette and there are 47 chickens. Are they hard to care for? What can I do with them? I will not chop off their heads. Can someone tell me my options with them? I have no experience but I am willing to learn. I can tell the owner to get rid of them too. Any suggestions????

We have 5% of the worlds population and we use 30% of the worlds energy. We are really the most to blame for global warming. I've been to 33 countries and 4 continents and I don't see SUV's, 2000+ sq ft homes (as a standard), lack of mass transit, and the excess I see in the US. I used to work in advertising and quit because I realized my job was to tell people to buy a bunch of crap they don't need and I was contributing to the destruction of the planet.

We don't have a lot of land, and we want to compost, but we don't want to attract bears, raccoons, skunks, and the other scavengers that also attract mountain lions. (We have little kids!) What are our options?

This is recycling at its best. The carbon, in the coal and oil, came from the atmosphere and is being returned there. Ideal.
