My pool has been invaded by hundreds of baby frogs. I skim them out only for them to return. Has anyone ever had this problem, and how do I get rid of them? I've tried to be nice, but know it's time for them to leave (no matter what I have to do!).

Thanks everyone. In a very humane manner I skimmed the frogs out again and brought them to a tree behind my house. So far none have come back. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

You are lucky to have frogs. It means that you have a clean enviroment.
You can let the frogs out by putting a piece of wood in the pool and rest it over the edge to let them climb out.
Be nice to your frogs.

Ammonium nitrate granules can kill a frog within 5 minutes. It is thought that the chemicals are absorbed into the skin and affect the balance of chemicals in the moist tissue. They then suffer a massive toxic attack. http://www.ipcc.ie/frogkills.html
You could also call your local animal control to see what advice they can offer - they may have a humane answer to this annoyance as well as a preventative suggestion so it doesn't happen again. Good Luck!

The last thing you want is to have someone tell you that you have an endangered species in your yard. In a few weeks at most it will taper off. One year I had hundreds of them coming out from under my deck. It only happened that one year and hasn't happened since. Excessive rain was most likely the reason. I also noticed that year a garter snake coming around. I think the snake helped the problem also. I haven't seen the snake since either and it's been a couple of years now.

Avoid killing them if you can. I'd try to collect as many of them as I can and try to take them a few miles away, where there's a body of fresh water or a swampy area or something. The world population of frogs is decreasing over all, so in a way, you might consider this to be a good sign!

Kill them! no that not the answer, you have had a couple of honey mooners, tadpoles have now developed into frogs? not toads? anyway, the chlorine will kill them eventually as their skins absorb poisons and so on , they play such a vital role in our systems with regards to insect control, and indicate clean air/pollution.
Have some one id them for you , may have some endangered species in your pool.Throw them in a bucket and remove them a fair distance, well they need water.....if they frogs, toads live away from water. Happy frogging....

cover your pool for a week.
Hopefully the frogs that dont die will go away and forget that your pool is even there.
