The gas grill. No conversion losses. ~

The small wires of an electric toaster use much less energy than the flame required to toast bread on a gas grill. A Gas grill doesn't concentrate the energy into a small space, the toaster will. Smaller area to heat, smaller area to fuel.

Sounds like a trick question.

If you're making only 1 slice, the toaster might be wasteful because average toaster heats up both slots even when only 1 slot is used.

I'd use the toaster. It's small and effective in toasting, do both side at once, shuts off when finished, no need for a spatula, easier to clean. Thus use less detergent and water as well.

An electric toaster - the gas grill will take longer to heat and is more likely to burn the toast.

well, there are many factors to include, like the efficiency of your toaster and your grill.

i would probably say the toaster uses less energy, but you cannot really compare, because they are both measures in different units, like electricity is measured in watts, so you cannot make an exact comparison because of that!

Most likely the toaster because it's focused ... less energy loss.

They both use about the same amount of energy, just different types of energy. Electricity and gas are both forms of energy, and they both cost money to process. It doesn't take much time to make toast, so there is probably not much difference, if any.

Try eating it as bread rather than toast and hey presto no energy consumption at all.
