Will the lack of clean water inhibit their growth?

China is going online with a new coal fired electric power plant every two weeks even though people are sick and dieing from polluted water and air in alarming numbers.

Anyone with any knowledge about global warming science who's seen this film will agree that it's full of misinformation. Probably the worst of it is the claim that the Midieval Warm Period was hotter than today. The only criticism I've seen of Gore's film was that the "hockey stick graph" was inaccurate in that it de-emphasized the MWP. This film does the exact opposite - taking a similar graph and inflating the MWP, which I find very ironic and hypocritical. Here are 10 seperate temperature reconstructions that look nothing like that in the film:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:2000_Year_Temperature_Comparison.png

I could go through and debunk the film, but I don't have room here and there are entire websites devoted to it.

Considering how full the film is of bad science and misinformation, and that it's supposed to be some scathing indictment of the supposed global warming hoax, is the fact that the filmmakers couldn't do any better evidence IN FAVOR of man-made GW?

Why does'nt the govt offer a modest tax exemption for every household that purchases and plants trees? wouldn't this at least start to take the edge off of global warming? and make communities prettier and cooler?

I was thinking of buying some energy saver light bulbs but I realized they are about 8 times more expensive than normal ones. Does the energy they safe justify the price? I will only use them for a few hours a day.

Hey, I'm doing a project about lifestyle and the impact of global warming in the near and far future :) Would u say we'd have many problems with climate change and, if so, would there be any changes in tech, habits, health, etc? Thanks!

This is the difinitive movie for all to see how greed and cruelty have affected the decisions of many well intentioned peolpe.Think again after watching this and look around you.Bono wants more money for Africa, wants to feed them.Fair enough. But this will always keep them in a position of needing to be fed.Starving people for fear that industrizing them will threaten our planet is what is on the line here.

For me it is a ticking clock.

Keeping in mind that the U.S. is one of the few nations that has ratified the Kyoto Protocol because it "would ruin the economy" (Bush) - do you think making a profit has something to do with the mostly domestic (U.S.) controversy surrounding human activity as significantly involved w/ accelerating climate change?

For example:
Some might argue environmentalists have a lot to gain by getting millions in research grants, hocking their "green" wares for profit, and making bank by raising taxes (o! those pesky, profiteering liberals!).

Others might say Corporations, such as the Petroleum Industry, have a lot to lose, especially if alarmed citizens want alternative energy sources.

And still others might say Eternal Salvation in priceless: Global Warming is a sign of the Apocalypse and is awesome for the saved!

Where do you stand? Who has the most to gain/lose? What do YOU personally have to gain/lose on your side of the "debate"?

OK, Libs, here's the challenge. Watch "The Great Global Warming Swindle" video, and give me your reaction. I don't want to hear generalities. Talk specifics. Gore's movie was based on junk science, and he laughingly mislead people by showing footage of completely natural events, such as glaciers melting (they do every summer). Liberals, this is your chance to prove that the term "Liberal" is not some ironic joke. Liberals used to be open minded, but I rarely see that here in Yahoo! Answers.

Now, after watching this video, who wants to (figuratively) smack Al Gore on the head with a solar panel? Aren't you furious at him for trying to dupe us all?
