think long and hard about this...the only automobiles would be ambulances and fire trucks...nothing else..and you can't ride a horse as they would contribute even more to the danger..

For the time being I'd have to say cows. We can function without them as there are alternatives - we don't have to eat beef, wear leather and suede or drink cow's milk.

Modern society is completely reliant on transport, without it things would very quickly grind to a halt. A few years ago there was a fuel protest in the UK which saw organised groups of truckers and others in the transport industry blockading the fuel storage depots. As a result there was no gas getting to the filling stations. It wasn't a ban on cars but it meant that a great many people were unable to drive. Within about three days the country was grinding to a halt, shops were running low on provisions, businesses were having to close, retailers saw profits fall because people couldn't go shopping. Had it continued it's quite liklely the country would have effectively stopped functioning.

We don't have to stop doing things to fix global warming. We just have to do them more efficiently.

We needn't ban cars, although we should require they get better mileage. And work on cars (and power plants) that use things other than fossil fuels.

For right now, it would help a lot if people bought only as large a car as they needed, not a big one for status or to "feel good". In the longer run, here's the plan to fix global warming:

Without cars, ambulances and fire trucks wouldn't exist. It takes a lot of volume (cars) to pay for the capital equipment and technology involved to make engines, parts, and accessories.

Kid don't listen to political hype!...If you got rid of the eternal combustion engine for say 5 different types of propulsion systems. Some of which did not need fuel for faster and better power..." That's not a bad thing " The fuel companies would love to keep pimping you!, for there products sitting back licking there eye brow whilst sending you out in the streets every day.

Get rid of the cars you could cycle to work. Create better and healthier environment for everyone and start a healthier and fitter society fitter for a start. The benefits would be enormous make hybrid buses and improve our train system and suddenly we won't have congestion. We could commute to work, less stress and more money for paying for bills and a better economy and we could get back to what is really important and that is spending time with family.

Cars, can't eat a car.

Wouldn't need a horse, I ride a bike. Bikes are a lot less finnicky to ride than horses. Take a lot fewer oats, too.

Cars. Why wouldn't I be able to ride horses? Oh well, then I'll ride bicycles. Or cows.

Your question makes no sense.....you can't do either one, so what's the point? It's like G W Bush saying that inflation is under control.
