I want to make ethanol fuel in my backyard in small batches from wood or cardboard. Does any one have a simple step by step process for me to follow? I know I need a federal permit first.

I read the book and every time I mention the book to Global warming fanatics. They just go crazy with expletives and say it’s not very truthful. Are all the footnotes made up? Are all the scientific journals and data he uses made up? I looked up a lot of it and it seems to be correct but its hard to get a fair and balanced answer from the Global warming fanatics because they just loose it. By the way, Its a good read no materwhat you think of the data.

This is recycling at its best. The carbon, in the coal and oil, came from the atmosphere and is being returned there. Ideal.

I keep reading bout the Fed by 2020 ( 13 YEARS ) making higher gas requirements and the automobile industry saying the increase is too steep for that amount of time etc. Also reports on how to get off of foreign oil.

My question is, over 10 years ago, I saw news local news report of a man who ran his car on used oil from fast food restaurants (they showed him pouring oil from mcdonalds in his car), also heard of cars being able to run on hydrogen gas made w/ water and electricity, etc.

So if all of this is existing, why is it not being used, why is everyone acting like its non existant and in 13 years can only have slight improvements?

My personal only guess is oil companies paying over governent, and w/ as much that is taxed on oil, if cars were running on oil would mean billions and billions of our criminal governments income would be gone.

Whoever can explain this in a way that makes most sense gets best answer.

The fact that electronic devices in standby modus are responsible for a substantial power use, why do most manufacturers off these products leave us with the only option off pulling out the power cords to save electric power?

If this is a well known fact, then why don't we say bye bye standby allready?

Chirping at 1AM, 2AM, 3AM... It's ridiculous. I've never noticed it before until this year. I can't leave my window open (I don't have to now I have the AC), but I couldn't if I wanted to because I'd hear them.

Why is it that when a man doesn't want his pregnant wife or gf to have a baby he's a deadbeat, but if the woman doesn't, she's exercising a choice?

Why does the man have no choice in the matter of whether or not she aborts?

Environmentalists preach that we can't cut down rain forests because of the cures for disease and such that may be found there.

Should the same arguement apply for abortion? Might we abort the scientist who would discover said cure?

Look, I don't care what you think about "An Inconvenient Truth" (though the top climate scientists gave it 5 stars for accuracy)

http://www.usatoday.com/tech/science/2006-06-27-gore-science-truth_x.htm

I don't care if you think Gore is a fat hypocritical idiot. Al Gore is completely irrelevant to global warming, except that he and "An Inconvenient Truth" have attracted attention to the issue.

In that film Gore simply presented some of the scientific evidence that humans are the primary cause of global warming. He did not invent GW - heck, he's never even researched it! Criticizing Gore is irrelevant to the issue.

People need to stop obsessing about Gore and examine the scientific evidence

http://ipcc-wg1.ucar.edu/wg1/wg1-report.html

Gore is right about one thing - any reasonable person who examines all the evidence with an open mind should conclude that humans are almost certainly the primary cause of GW.

Why are global warming skeptics obsessed with Al Irrelevant Gore?

Im totally not convinced by global warming. I;ve seen the evidence and its clear that climate change is 1: not driven by human activity and 2: not going to be a catastrophe.

Anyway, how much CO2 did Gore put into the atmosphere promoting that stupid film?

Who's with me?

Many HOA (Home Owner Associations) do not allow solar panals to be placed on homes.

I was wondering why we should care more of how something looks rather then realize we should do our best in conserving energy. If we are able to afford the high cost and want to do this, any HOA should allow it.

I have a really wacky idea to help scale back global warming and I want to know if it's possible or not.
What about genetically engineered bacteria or plants or something that would eat the CO2 in the air? I know we could just replant a lot of normal plants, but that might take time we don't have. Instead, what about Super-Trees that suck up 10 times more CO2?
Another even crazier sounding idea I had is this: What about giant air purifiers the size of buildings?
