I was wondering how going to exchange sodacans for money works? How much sodacans for each dollar??

I assume that you are in the USA. If not, skip the next paragraph.

Some states require deposits on soda cans and bottles [standard is 5 cents each]. They usually require the stores that sell the soda and take deposits also redeem them for the deposit price. If you live in such a state, take them to the store you usually use.

If you don't live in such a state you need to contact a recycling center in your area. Ask them. It's usually some price per pound for each type of material (glass, aluminum, HDPE, etc.) However, they usually deal in large quantities and may not want to deal with a low volume supplier.

Finally, if your town recycles, contact them for their advice.

Where I live (California) when I take aluminum cans to the recycle center when I have few and they don't weigh them I get 5 cents for each can.
